I'm definitely on a mission to eat better. I bought some healthier food last night.

Just made this for myself, for dinner:

Simple, but delish. Broiled tilapia, seasoned with sea salt, peppercorn, garlic and lemon.

Steamed Broccoli and cauli, seasoned with garlic, lemon and salt.

I don't think it would fill you up. And I didn't think it would keep ME full, but it did. Pretty much all night. Didn't crave another crappy piece of food that I usually do at night.

Well this morning, (since I get bored super easily), I bought salmon, too. And a bunch of frozen vegetables, to mix up and steam at my meals. I buy the big bags of tilapia and salmon. They are both sooooooo reasonable. Tilapia was only 7.80, for a bag and salmon was about 10.50. GAWD I love Wegmans!!

I got my son an eclair and I didn't get ANYthing for myself! And I think everyone knows how I am with the bakery/doughnuts, esp. in the morning.

It's not really all about dieting, hence my first post. It's more about just eating better. I mean, I'm such a grab n go person, that I want to start really putting in an effort to eat better, not always grab bagels and carbs.

What does eat that's so sugary all the time? I'm trying to get him to eat fish and vegetables now, but he's always been about fruit and yogurt. He barely gets his snacks.

BELEIVE me, it changes. You really have to be on their asses. Esp. when they're tastes change and they start to like things they didn't before, and dislike things that they did like before.

oh.... two weeks ago when i left, he was getting sugary snacks all the time.. He should basically have no sugar in his diet at all.. That means no more chocolate milks..

And is the juice we give him sugar free?

He needs to start drinking more water than anything else... water all day except at dinner where he can have something nice but still without sugar..

He barely gets juice, maybe a cup or two a day, and I don't fill his cup. The chocolate he gets in his milk, actually doesn't have much sugar in it. It's the only one available that is good for him& hasn't a lot of sugar...He also only gets maybe half a tablespoon with that!

It's monitored more than you think. YES, I have cut down, big time on the snacks, though.

Barely gets juice? this must be a recent change! He was going through a bottle every two days before.

No.. he gets no more chocolate milk.. he is far too spoilt with that.. he needs to drink nothing but water until dinner where he can have something he likes.. but that's the only time..

Yep, tis a change! He's on the same bottle since last thursday, and it's still got about under half left. If you don't fill his cup, he doesn't even notice. I give him just above half.

Water is not filling. But, I'll try and make the chocolate milk to be more special.
