it depends on the person, and whether or not they actually have a chemical imbalance or not. Antidepressants can help but they are not a cure-all..you must use your jedi mind tricks as well.

Funny title do you believe in a medicine.. do you believe in aspirines?
Anti depressants... well, I think they are overly used, but they are necessary sometimes, when psicotherapy is not enough. It can be abused and it's not something to play with.

Not all of them work for every person. If you are going to take them you have to make sure that they are the right ones for you. A lot of them of side effects.

i think its needed by some, but to often it is prescribed to those that dont need it. and it can cause a serious dependency within the user. So much so, that when a person stops taking they become depressed again.

yeah i know what you mean, like me for instance, i have social anxiety. i have to take these pills (not anti-depressants) that increase the seratonin level in my brain. seratonin is a chemical in your brain that doctors have found a decreased amount of in people that suffer from depression and stress. My friend Matt takes the same pills and his doctor told him he will be taking them for the rest of his life. but my doctor says i only need to take mine for 9 months, then my brain will be able to produce enough seratonin.

I can't imagine taking those pills for the rest of my life. It's a pain to take them every once in awhile.
