Default It's the Little Things
So many people have been successful doing the HCG diet. We hear about the large amounts of weight lost. We hear about the many inches lost. We hear the wonderful stories of changed lives. I would like to hear about the little things that keep you going, or the little things you've noticed as the weight/inches have been coming off.

What are the little things you've noticed?

I'll start. Today getting in the car and driving, I noticed that my belly isn't rubbing on the steering wheel no more! I was smiling the whole time I was driving.

Not really a good thing - but aside from my pants not fitting, my wedding ring is loose. It's driving me crazy when I type. I'll get it re-sized later, but for now it is just a reminder that I'm shrinking. Sometimes I actually forget. I also love glancing in the mirror and thinking I look 15 years younger.

I love noticing my shape actually coming out. I can see my cheekbones more, my neck is getting smaller and I can see my jaw becoming more defined. I can see the actual curve of my hips coming out, what's underneath the rolls. My feet don't hurt as much after a long day.

Besides the little physical things, I've noticed a difference in my thinking as well. I've realized that food doesn't neccessarily need to be complicated to be good or comforting. A bowl of miracle noodles and mushrooms in broth (rogue, I know) is delicious and satisfying. Lettuce with some ground meat and a spoonful of natural salsa can be quite heavenly. Veggies can actually taste delicious by themselves or just simply dresses. I don't need food to be happy, and food can't fill my emotional needs. I will always have a strong connection to food-I love to cook and I love exploring tastes and textures. But it doesn't have to be complicated to be good; I just need to slow down enough to enjoy it.

You make a great point about changing our thinking. I notice that too. When I make something for the family, I make sure that I wear gloves, which serves me twofold 1) I don't touch anything greasy or oily, that might be absorbed thru my skin. 2) I don't lick my fingers. How many times do we sabotage ourselves with the little intake of calories here and there. I think being aware of what does and what doesn't work for us is the key to maintaining for a lifetime.

Again, it comes right back to the little things. Scarfing a whole quart of ice cream is kinda obvious. But saying no to ice cream, or whatever your downfall is (mine is bready stuff), is a little thing, but so important!

When I cross my legs, my top leg doesn't stick out at an angle anymore, and it's a new/nice feeling how they can lay together comfortably :^)

The only time my pants are tight now is when my bladder is so full from all the water I'm drinking! Instant gratification!

This morning, when I put on my robe, I found that I can actually overlap the pockets on the sides, in FRONT. My robe is way too big! Yea! I am really shrinking!

Thelittle thing that sticks out the most to me was when I could cross my legs comfortably........and I didn't have to hold it there! Sometimes it IS the little things!

I wear jeans straight from the wash and not have to lay down to get them done up. I also don't spend 1/2 a day in them, wishing that they were looser.

This morning I did my laundry, and threw my jeans in the dryer. I don't think I've dried my jeans in the dryer for 3 years, out of fear of them shrinking and not being able to get them back on.
It's little things like that that really keep me encouraged.
