Well after 2 days of gorging last night around 7:00 p.m. I felt really sick to my stomach with heartburn and acid, I felt nauseated and threw up everything I had left in my stomach. I felt like I was burning up with a fever for some reason though I had no fever, I just felt hot and sick to my stomach.
I forced myself to drink as much water and finally fell asleep on an empty stomach, woke up this morning on DAY 3 with an empty stomach. Weighed myself and I weigh exactly the same weight as before my 2 gorging days so I did not gain any weight even though I ate more than a sumo wrestler. I drank 1 glass of Green tea for breakfast. Ate 100grams boneless organic Chicken on a handful of organic salad greens (small salad), I used Kirkland Organic Seasoning that has 21 Organic Spices in it found in Costco which is excellent by the way (Highly recommended for flavoring up chicken/fish etc.) Squeezed an organic lemon on the salad with a little apple cider vinegar and had 1 Organic Gala apples found in packs at Costo as well with cinnamon on it. Very Satisfying as far as taste but all this was not enough to feel full actually. That was lunch, though I don't feel satisfied and still hungry I guess this will be a transition for a few days of getting used to smaller amounts of food with no breakfast, maybe the HCG is in the process of instead of burning my gorging foods for fuel it is now switching over to the body fat to use for energy instead. Perhaps this is why there are a few days of hunger expected after the gorging days that will go away once it kicks in the fat burning mode and my body gets used to it. Just a guess! I do feel hungry but I will definitely not quit or give in to breaking the protocol. I have chosen to cut out melba toast but thinking of putting that back in after a few days if I can't handle it maybe if I get too hungry. lol p.s. Am I supposed to substitute something for the melba toast calorie wise if I decide to not have the melba toast? Also am I allowed 1 apple a day or 2 apples a day? 1 apple per meal? I was a little confused on the directions on this? 2 apples or 1? And what do I substitute the melba toast with if anything? Thanks everyone, I thought I would continue to give reports on how I'm doing for others of you out there wondering and on the protocol. I will let you know how I'm doing on weight in a few days hopefully I have gone down a few pounds and the hunger hopefully goes away. For all the long time HCG dieters out there, are there any tips you have for me right now? Should I take the calcium sachets with water as Keven Tru suggests in his book or do you think this could slow down the weight loss? I am going to drink the teas he recommends though. Organic: Wu Long Tea Yerba Mate Tea Chamomile Tea Green Tea Maybe add a little stevia with them. What is the limit on Stevia that can be used per day if any? It's nice to have a forum I can turn to for support.-) Thanks everyone! Kristen |

Kristen, the first few days you need to get used to a new definition of feeling full. Full is simply not hungry, not stuffed. Its a very important difference. But it does take a couple of days, especially after loading days!!
I didn't repeat the same fruit, nor the same veggie for the two meals. I found oranges stalled my weight loss, so I avoided them. Everyone is different though. |

Kristen, welcome to P2.
I also felt a bit hungry on the first day but this went away by the next day and now, I never feel hungry at all. Yes, you are allowed 2 fruits a day. Here is the diet as set down in Dr. Simeons' protocol. Breakfast: Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours. Saccharin or Stevia may be used. Lunch: 1. 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be removed from the bird. 2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage. 3. One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast. 4. An apple, orange, or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit. Dinner : The same four choices as lunch (above.) The juice of one lemon daily is allowed for all purposes. Salt, pepper, vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, majoram, etc., may be used for seasoning, but no oil, butter or dressing. Tea, coffee, plain water, or mineral water are the only drinks allowed, but they may be taken in any quantity and at all times. Some members of this forum have been eating eggs instead of meat and have been losing weight just as well. I have also been eating a hard-boiled egg instead of meat at lunchtime and my weight loss has stayed the same. Just relax and enjoy it. In a way, it's so easy as there is nothing to think about. You just plan your meal for the next day from the limited list and just do it! Good luck. |

Appreciate that Mags, I just wanted to confirm 2 pieces of fruit a day so thanks for that.
Do you know if there is a limit on Stevia per day? Also does anybody know if I choose to cut out the melba toast if I'm supposed to substitute that for something? Maybe add more veggies in replacement of the melba toast? Is anyone else drinking coral calcium sachets per day? (Does that effect the weight loss or is it acceptable?) Thanks |

And if you particularly like apples you can have 2 a day according to the original protocol. I know some have said they vary it up but I haven't been able to find that rule on Dr. S's protocol. I do two different ones just for variety but you don't really have to.
I haven't followed anything in Trudeu's book, just the original protocol. I do NOT want to gain back this weight I've worked so hard to lose! :-) That empty feeling will be one you come to like, Kristen. It feels THIN. :-) Colleen |

I know what you mean by feeling hungry. I am on VLCD 4, but did not inject this morning due to TOM, but had stuck to the diet. I feel a little hungry still, but not nearly as much as I did on day one and two after gorging.
I have not seen any limit on stevia. I have it in my coffee in the morning, and on my strawberries in the evening and have lost 7lbs in 4 days, so I don't think it is hurting. I read that if you choose to take out the melba toast that you do not replace it with anything else, even though you may not be getting additional calories from the substitution. I have read that some people have replaced it for other comparable breads, but I am too afraid to risk it, so its really a personal choice for you. Below is the blurb I read in "Pounds and Inches" Dr. Simeons manuscript: Making up the Calories The diet used in conjunction with HCG must not exceed 500 calories per day, and the way these calories are made up is of utmost importance. For instance, if a patient drops the apple and eats an extra breadstick instead, he will not be getting more calories but he will not lose weight. There are a number of foods, particularly fruits and vegetables, which have the same or even lower caloric values than those listed as permissible, and yet we find that they interfere with the regular loss of weight under HCG, presumably owing to the nature of their composition. Pimiento peppers, okra, artichokes and pears are examples of this |

Yesman, there is no limit on the stevia you can have per day. Just as there is no limit on coffee, tea, and allowed beverages. make sure you get enough water per day, or else you won't lose weight. I haven't tried the coral calcium. i agree with the above, it gets easier since your food choices are sort of made for you. I break up the fruit and meat/veggie. i eat the first fruit mid morning, meat and a veggie at about 11 am, then another fruit around 3 pm, and meat and veggie at 5 pm. Then just tea after 5 pm. You won't feel hungry as much as sort of empty, which I agree with the above, sort of feels thin....and good. You will learn to like that feeling better than the old full, stuffed feeling!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.
I'm sure some of you understand how I don't want to mess this up since it's the first time I'm doing it and of course it would suck to learn later I'm doing something wrong and not losing weight. I just finished up dinner. 100grams Tilapia with Organic Lemon pepper stuff, half a cucumber which I assume estimates a hand full according to the original protocol. Dipped the cucumbers in apple cider vinegar and used a half a lemon squeezed on the Tilapia, drank a glass of Yerba Mate tea with it. Now working on a organic Grapefruit. That will be it for tonight. Not that bad I guess so far I can live with this but it would be nice if it gets better where I feel more full throughout the day. Maybe in a few days or tomorrow. I'm thinking of using a few drops of liquid Hoodia in tea in the morning if I get too starved well see if it works. Not sure about the calcium sachets still researching that, also not sure if I should be eating all organic or not like Dr. Tru says but I assume to play it safe for now.-) Thanks everyone! |

I agree with breaking up your meals, but don't give up the melba toast. Try early am a melba toast, then mid morning a fruit, then meat and veggie for lunch , then melba toast mid afternoon, then meat and veggie for dinner then in the evening a fruit. This is the way I have done it and I have not felt any hunger since the first day. Also, I have only eaten apples. I love apple cider vinegar on my veggies. I use stevia, at least 4 packets a day. I am on VLCD 14 and I have lost 13 pounds.
You could also try Life Caps, I have read several posts but have never tried it. It sounds great if you are hungry. |

Thanks for that great info about the hoodia and about the melba toast. I will probably add both starting tomorrow.
Rosiesmom, that is good advice I appreciate it since I'm just starting and on Day 4 tomorrow, I will do what you say and try it. Early morning melba toast. coffee & teas a little hoodia (If needed or feeling super hungry) Mid morning Apple, Lunch Meat Veggie, Mid afternoon, Melba toast & teas. Dinner Meat & Veggies Evening Fruit. Sounds like a plan so you are getting intake continually throughout the day. *Smiling* The apple cider vinegar is awesome to dip veggies and pieces of apple in yum. (I will keep doing that) I really appreciate your input everyone, means a lot to me since I'm still learning on this. I'm also glad to hear you are eating 2 apples a day because I love apples, if it works that is all that is important to me. Organic grapefruit and strawberries are over priced in my opinion but Organic apples I have found as low as 0.89cents a pound at Costco in 5.5lb packs. Not bad Cheers, Kristen |

I am on day 3 and I find that breaking up the meals works for me. In the morning I am usually not hungry or thirsty at all. I force the water only because I should drink it. I then have a cup of tea. By now my stomach is growling, so I have half an apple. This is all before 1 pm.
Lunch {approx 2pm} cold veggies such as salad or cucumbers with 100g of chicken (I measure out around 60 calories of lettuce or cucumbers. That is almost a pound of veggies so I break it up. I may have 12 oz of cucumbers with the chicken for lunch) Snack {approx 3:30pm} I will eat the remaining 4 oz of cucumbers Snack {approx 4:30} I will eat the other half of the apple Dinner {approx 6pm} I will eat veggies and 100g of chicken (if its lettuce, I will only eat 12 oz for dinner) Snack {approx 8pm} I will eat remaining 4 oz of lettuce Snack {approx 9pm} I will eat my fruit (strawberries or half grapefruit) Snack {approx 10pm} I will crunch on the 2 melba toasts with 2 cups of tea I will wait approx 3 hours before going to bed. |
