I haven't lost enough weight to know for sure, but I'm fairly certain nothing short of surgery can be done about that little pooch. I never had it until kids either, even though I was already overweight. I had 3 also but not by c-section, so the surgery is not the cause! Diastasis recti is part of the problem, as the abs cannot tighten the way they need to to support that part of your body. Also loose skin that doesn't tighten back to normal and redistributed fat from pregnancy. My obgyn said that when the uterus gets so huge (especially if one of your babies was oversize), the fat cells from the center part of your abdomen that is taut literally gets squished to wherever it will fit, mostly downward.
I just figure that my body will never look the way that it did before my kids (lets not even talk about my breasts after 38+ months of nursing) but I consider them my "battle scars". Parenting comes with tons of sacrifices, and I would not give up the personal rewards and growth they have brought me for anything. |
