So I read the follwing on another forum:
My mother also did the diet, but at first had a really hard time losing, and we think it's because she's diabetic, so we changed her daily intake from 2 fruits to one fruit, and added one veggie, then her daily weight loss doubled. I encourage everyone willing to go on a mission for just one month, to try the hcg diet. Yes, it works, if you follow the plan (get that journal, too), and get REAL hcg. I have a history of Insulin resistance and hormonal imbalances caused by rx antidepressants which caused me to gain about 70 Ibs. I have since lost about 35Ibs before HCG but could not seem to get any lower with diet and exercise. My body has never been the same again and it has affected my self perception and self esteem. I was newly married when all this happened so it has also affected my marriage. So my question is do people with a history of Insulin resistance need to be more careful on the protocol and maybe reduce sugar intake via fruit? I want to get the maximum benefit out of this round and ideally will not be doing another round if I get into the low 140's. So I want to know now if I need to reduce my fruit intake. My other plan was maybe to have 1/2 the fruit portions at each meal. I must admit I really enjoy my fruit fixes twice a day and really look forward to them. I think my brain/ body somehow crave the sugars. That said if needs must maybe I will cut down just to get through ![]() ![]() |

Are you losing weight while eating the fruit that you enjoy? If so, I'd continue to eat it. Just make sure you're eating small to medium-sized fruit, not large ones. If you find your weight loss is very slow, you can cut out the fruit, or lower the amount you eat. But if you enjoy it and it isn't hurting your weight loss, I think you should eat it. Average loss for women is .5 to .75 lbs a day over the course of the diet. You'll lose faster the first week.
I eat 1 or 1 1/2 servings of fruit each day. My body needs the carbs to function, but I really don't like fruit. No fruit means I'm near comatose on the couch with low blood sugar. |

I deliberately bought small to medium smallish apples and have also bought small strawberries without the pesticides etc so I can easily just grab a handful. I really look forward to the fruit but think I will cut down slightly so as to have a "taste" at each meal without spiking my blood sugar levels. I am avoiding the oranges completely and have opted for the half grapefruit instead bc of sugar. I am also deliberately not having the grissini/ melba as I am not a huge bread fan and suspect I may have some sort of gluten intolerance. |
