Hi, I was wondering how long it takes before the hcg kicks in and you're not feeling hungry anymore? I am on day 12, have lost 9 lbs, but I have been starving, dizzy, headache, etc, all the time. I have been sticking to the Simeons protocol exactly with 500 calories without cheating except for extra cucumbers or broth when I feel like I am going to pass out. I checked the hcg on a pregnancy test and it did test positive (faintly though,) and it is still within the expiration date. I am taking 250 iu (10000 divided by 40) per day. I have been trying to eat the fruit in the morning but that doesn't even seem to work. If I exert myself in the least, it gets even worse. I am 5'3" and started out 167 lbs. Anyone have any ideas?

This is a common issue but differant for everyone. So we will all have to put on our detective caps and see what is up. Here are the things that directly affect hunger. 1) Your dose of hCG, and how administered (correctly or not) IM, SQ or SL all have there own way, but you must do it correctly. 2) Yes 10000/40 is 250 which is too high for an injection dose. But it depends on how many cc's you take daily. If you mixed like this and inject 1 cc you would have 250iu. But if you only inject .5 cc you would have 125iu. 3) The true foods you eat (No artificial sweeteners, and for some, no hamburger meat, tomatoes, oranges) 4) Your toiletries and cosmetics. What lotions, lanolin’s, conditioners, moisturizers, etc are you getting on you skin? 5) You are past the time that a good load would have help, but how well did you load, and with what. High sugar foods or high fat foods? 6) Are you over exercising? 7) Are you drinking enough water? Your currant weight divided by 2 gives you an idea. To help us get a better handle on this please answer the following: Did you do any cleanses before starting? How much weight are you looking to lose? How are you taking the HCG? IM, SQ, SL or? Okay.... I put 10mls of the bariostatic water into the hcg and inject .25 every day. I inject IM in my belly fat. I usually have coffee, tea, 1/2 cup strawberries at 6am, 1/2 orange or more strawberries at 9am, soup- vegetable like cabbage or spinach and chicken or beef at 11:30am, then nothing til dinner when I have usually chicken with vegetables (tomatoes, spinach, cabbage, onions, or asparagus) at 6pm. I am sensitive to oranges, grapefruit and apples, so I don't eat them to much. I only use Stevia about once a week, not very often, otherwise no other sweetners. I take inhalers, BCP's, citrucel caplets, childrens viltamins, calcium, and antihistimines. I drink as much water as I can probably about 50 oz daily. I have rosacea, eczema and dry skin which is flaring right now, so I have to use triamcinalone cream and mineral oil on my body, Elidel on my face. I can't use mineral oil on my face- I totally break out. I have been using Jason shampoo and conditioner and Tom's of Maine soap.
I probably didn't load too well, I ate more carbs than fat, but I had breakfast burritos, donuts, barbecue pork, etc. I haven't been exercising at all, not even walking. But before the diet, I ran the elliptical 5 days a week, vigorously, and lifted weights 3 times a week. I didn't do a cleanse before I started. I don't smoke. I have an occasional sip of my husbands beer, once a week. I am still menstruating and in fact had a period on day 8 - 11. I am still hungry most of the time. In fact if I go to bed and I am not hungry, I usually don't lose any weight when I weigh myself in the morning. I am going to try to divide the food into 5 small meals and see if that works. Right now I am on day 22. |

Ok jellybean
Here are some ideas, and I hope others will join in with their ideas as this might take the whole village. Here are my ideas, Not to be mean, just to give my thoughts: 1) You said you "inject IM in my belly fat" IM is deep into the muscle, about 1 1/4" needle but not into the belly. Are you using a 1/2" needle? If so this sounds like SQ-Subcutaneously just under skin-takes more hCG than Intermuscular, most sugesst 150-200 Iu's) Uses a 1ml syringe and a 1/2" needle, the same as diabetics use. 2) 250iu is to high, and on the hcg, more is not better, if you are injecting everyday. Cut it back to .20 so you are getting 200iu daily, not 250. 3) HCG will react with all oils, creams, lotions, conditioners etc that go on your skin. Does not really matter if it is "all natural" or mineral or what, if it is oil, hcg will react to it, and effect your hunger and your weight loss. Sorry. 4) Make sure to only have one type of fruit and one type of veggie from your lunch or dinner menu. NO mixing. Like “1/2 cup strawberries at 6am, 1/2 orange at 9am” And ½ cup of strawberries is about the max. Dr S says a small handful. 5) It is common for Weight lose will stop durring TOM, injecting or not. Yea the more you can break up you meals the better, and the more water you drink the better. Anyone else have some ideas? |

No additional ideas, but try upping your water. You should drink half your weight in water oz. If you weigh 180, then you drink 90 oz. per day. When I do NOT do this, I do NOT lose well. I drink a 32oz by noon, another by 5pm, and another by 9pm and go to bed at 10:30 so it works. 50 oz of water is not enough for someone NOT on the diet. Other than that...it is the oils you are forced to use because of your skin condition. I have very dry skin in the winter and it's worse now...so I did buy some 100% oil free neutrogena facial moisturizer that i use on my hands once in awhile when i can't stand it or on my elbows. 100% Aloe vera gel is a temporary fix but it takes the edge off.
You may also try only drinking tea and coffee until around 10:30am (or whatever halfway to lunch is for you) then eat your first ONE portion of fruit. WAit til lunch and eat ONE HANDFUL of vegetable and 100gm (WEIGHED RAW, NOT GUESSED). Then wait til part way to dinner and eat your second ONE portion of fruit. Then dinner same as lunch.....do not eat the same food on the same day and do NOT MIX VEGETABLES. Then drink herbal teas and drink your water up to about an hour to hour and a half before bed (give it time to flush out so you aren't up going to the bathroom an hour later). Lastly....get 8 hours of sleep whenever possible. |

I am still having hunger pangs, although they have become less frequent. When do they stop? I am on my 6th day // 4th VLCD day and have lost 6.2 pounds total - so I feel like I am doing well. I tried to load alot - but I felt like I was going to vomit with all of the food. My first load day, I lost one pound; the second day I gained 1/2 pound, so I believe the hunger pangs have to do with that. But I did eat!! I did not eat high-sugar foods - lots of meat for the fat and protein.
The first day was awful - dizzy and a slight headache - lots of hunger pangs. The second day was better - but I still got them. Third day pretty much the same. I woke up this morning pretty hungry, so I drank some green tea and ate a few celery sticks which seemed to help. I am drinking over 1/2 gal water everyday plus 2-3 cups of tea. I am following the Simeons protocol, except for the melba toast. Injections are SQ, 200 cc. Don't know what else to add. |

I'm wondering what's a typical amount of hunger is. I'm marginally hungry. Not enough to be going nuts but just enough that I feel a bit irritable. I'm drinking a lot of water. My dose is 125 subq which might be a touch too low but I don't have the right needles to do IM and if I up the dose I'll run out. It's only my first day after loading. Should I just be patient?
