Default Dr. Oz says no to HCG drops!
Anyone watch Dr. Oz yesterday? He ended the show saying bottom line - do NOT use the HCG drops; they do not work. I am really bummed out about this as I just received my drops in the mail today and am starting on the diet next month. We are going out of town for two weeks so decided to wait until we get back.

How do you feel about what Dr. Oz said? How many of you have had good results with the drops and no side effects?

I have to admit I jumped on the Dr Oz bandwagon for a while there. My "grain of salt" here is that his "weight loss solution" is something different every week. Lot of good suggestions, but because of his medium (tv) he has to cover all his bases (and his own butt, legally). Bottom line: he can't go advocating something that the FDA hasn't approved.

Exactly, He is under a mircoscope. And I wonder all these new "fad vitamins" when they will come under scrutiny, because most are a new cure all heath thing, but he doesnt know, he cant prove or even FDA what the long lasting affects of chia seeds (for example) are. Might be great in small doses, but people go overborad, so in large doses could be a causing factor in brain cancer! I know soo many people who have done this. And it is amazing. I waited for over a yr before trying. To see if friends gained back, or side affects. Even though it is a low cal diet, you will be stuffed! You are putting flat out great food in your body, protein, veggies, fruits and even carbs. Natural carbs, what our ancesters survived on! I am full, full of my wonderful cabbage, garlic chicken stir fry...lol 157 calories! It was yummy and filling, whole fam loved it. So this whole hype about starving yourself or being malnurished is bull. If you truly look up what malnourished means, it is 10% body fat or lower, that is starving, that is malnourished to the point of organ failure(im a nurse) We are hear because we have "stores" of fat that is being burned, not our vital fat. If you have the right recipes, you dont feel like your even on a diet! I hate separating my "special food" with what I prepare for my hubby and 5 kiddos. I dont have to on this one! Just a little modifying, like no cheese on my stuffed whole red bell pepper, with 97% lean hamburger, onion, mushroom, garlic, taco seasoning, and side salad ( 182 calories) I was full. Kids had cheese and sour cream ect.

But the point is, even if it is a placebo effect, it works, your not starving, and you still lose weight in a healthy way! Good luck!!

All Dr. Oz has to do is come to this forum and peruse for a little while and KNOW that HCG works. I do agree that he cannot endorse something that the FDA has not approved. He needs to cover his butt behind everything he says on his show.

No way anyone can eat only 500 cal a day and not feel ravenously hungry and not lose muscle mass.

Wait...doesn't he endorse WeightWatchers. So saying HCG is awesome & it works isn't something he would say.
I have been on WW & lost & gained back. This IS the only 'diet' plan that works for ME! Its awesome!! I lose the unwanted FAT unlike w/ WW & have kept it off for a yr now & now doing it again to lose the last pounds.
This just works for me & apparently thousands of others here.

Want to lose.....I truly just DONT get hungry..lol I eat alot. I use vinager for dressing, which is appatite suppressant too, and average about 450-480 cal day. I feel like i am, always eating. There are times i have to make myself finish! 3 cups of salad is alot! Plus 3 oz protein? lol I dont know if it truly is drops that supress or I just feel healthy, I feel like eating normal sized portions, it has mentally got me on my game. And I make sure i get all my fuit.veggie and protien requirements.

Are you truly hungry?? Have you tried doing more drops? I did 6 drops 6x day instead of 10 3x. It helpes to stay consistant with drops in system, i wonder if thats it?

my 2 cents...I used the drops my first round and lost 24lbs and kept it off for a year now because I STABILIZED after the first round(which is key). I did 2 mediocre rounds with pellets that worked just fine, I just skipped over stabilizing and gained most of it back. I just started round 4 on patches (love em so far) and this time will be strict about p3. As for the drops they absolutely worked for me. I've tried just about everything...zone, atkins, southbeach, weight watchers, nutrisystem, la weightloss, pills, shakes etc. I don't care what anyone says because the fact is ...it worked.
Good luck, I think your headed in the right direction

Ummm, I think you misunderstood me. I meant, "No way anyone can eat only 500 cal a day and not feel ravenously hungry and not lose muscle mass." if they are not on HCG--guessing people would have got my meaning. Also, if you read what I wrote before that you would know that I know HCG works.

Look at my ticker. I'm a believer. I use the patches. And I'm not hungry at all either

I saw Dr Oz and I think what he was saying was he had the drops analyzed in the best labs available and found there was nothing in them that was efficaceous. However he thinks there is something working with the injectable hcg, so he is not against hcg. Anyone else see it that way from watching him?

I also saw this segment. One, he cannot goes against FDA. Two, he is with Weight Watchers. Three, he showed the difference between weight loss of fat with HCG and without (we won). Lastly, it does work if you get the correct hhcg and he did not speak against HCG -IF provided by a medical office. Legally, he must say this. As far as the guy that said 50% of the weight is gained back, true if you go right back to eating unhealthy ( duh smart guy!) That is with ANY diet.

I do not have much to lose, but bought extra in the event my distributor stops selling soon. Read the posts from veterans, they are very helpful. Good luck

I saw a segment about a year ago in which he was pretty positive about HCG.

Bottom line is the proof is in what works. To many like him that are influential people are influenced by money also. So he has to say what keeps his advertisers happy. I think from what I saw (which was his show a year ago) he walked a fine line about saying exactly what hcg did and didn't do. I don't think you would find him say anything homeopathic was good or beneficial. No wonder a lab didn't find anything! Duh!! They were looking for a molecule...sorry guys no molecules in homeopathics. This shows he doesn't understand the basics. He's medical! At least he didn't completely bash it.

Hi- im not doing drops-(Injections here) but I wanted to chime in on all this Doc OZ hype- Im not sure if maybe I missed this part (bc I watched it online)- But when the guy says that almost everyone gains back the weight and then some ( I really wanted to get into a debate with this man) why didn't the Lady Doc (that runs the clinic) rebutle him and talk about P3/P4- I watched this video a few times and i never once heard any of them talk about P3 leading into P4- Im really confused bc they are going on TV talking about the "FAD' hCG diet and how it may or may not work, but they didn't give the whole story. Any opinions on this?

oh and i totally aggree with most of you- I actually think Dr Oz is pro HCG, but bc of the FDA- he said don't do the drops, but he did also say be under professional supervision with the injections- The last time he talked about Hcg he said his wife was doing the diet.

I agree with others who stated that that since the drops have been outlawed by the FDA he can't legally say use them.

I totally lost faith in Dr. Oz and refuse to watch him anymore. He doesn't like hcg, but recently did a show on gastric bypass where he recommends it for people who weigh as little as 200 lbs. He didn't like the hcg because of the low calorie, but umm, how many calories does a gastric patient eat?

Fascinating comments. I, too, now have lost faith in Dr. Oz but also in most doctors of medicine. They don't know how to practice preventive medicine, just want to hand you drugs. The pharmaceutical companies and the FDA work hand in hand to keep the public sick. They don't want you to be healthy, they would lose money. If this sounds like a conspiracty, well guess what, it is!

I have a dear friend who did this 5yrs ago she was around 400lbs, she's 6" tall. I remember afterwards she was on a liquid diet at first & then when she could eat meals it was bites & she would complain about getting sick afterwards if she ate the wrong thing. She lost a ton of weight QUICKLY, sadly she put it back on after her 2 children. GB is very hard on the body. She has scars on her belly.

She's going to start HCG when her infant is older.
