Hi I'm on day three of the VLCD. I am doing the hcg injections. I have a few questions that I hope someone can take the time to answer:
1) is it normal to be a bit hungry the first few days? I am not STARVING but definitely finding it difficult between meals. Should I ask my doctor about increasing the hcg dose already? 2) TUNA.What's the deal? I was vegetarian prior to this but have made an exception for talapia, tuna and shrimp. Is solid white albacore in water okay on this diet? I have searched it and gotten mixed answers. 3) On my first day I lost 2.2 lbs. Today I am only down .6. Is this normal or is the freaking tuna to blame for today's small loss?! Thanks so much for your help! --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=39.130368,-121.614940 |

Hey Jen. I am VCLD4, so I am definately not a vet of hcg. If you haven't read it, go back to Pounds and Inches. Dr. S says no tuna. That doesn't give you a lot to work with. Also, make sure you are keeping your water level up (I know, gurgle gurgle).
Thought I would just put in my 2 cents, since you are just up the "road" from me! |

1. Its ok to be a "bit" hungry. You should not be starving. Of course, if this is your 1st round you may be dealing with "head" hunger not "stomach" hunger. Be sure to be drinking lots of water.
2. Some will say yes to tuna; some will say no. I get my Hcg from a local clinic & they say yes to tuna. They are pretty strict on protocol, too. 3. Your weight loss will probably fluctuate. Higher one day; lower the next. You have to look at the big picture. Women usually average .5-.75 pounds per day over the course of Phase 2. Sounds like you are doing great. Just keep yourself on track & don't give in to cheating. That will def slow down your weight loss. |

I have eaten yellowfin tuna steak all my life. I had no loss one time I ate it on the diet, but I didn't prepare it, and I am positive that it was blackened with at least a bit of oil. The time I fixed it myself, I just grilled it, and I lost.
The vets who have eaten fresh tuna say that it seems to be ok, but I have heard a lot of yes-no-maybe on the canned. Good luck! |
