Default ? About veggies
As I read over the board, I am seeing posts about not combining veggies?? For dinner I had a chicken breast, zucchini & spinich.. Is that bad to do? If so, what is the reasoning on that & also- what else do you eat with the meat & veggie??
My paper from the dr. did not mention this ( Not did it tell me about the load days, which I only did one since didnt know you were supposed to) .

Thank You,
Jami

HI! Welcome aboard. My name is Jaime too! I am going to be honest right off the bat...Zucchini is not on the Original Hcg Protocol and combining veggies is a no no. The good news is that you have an option to not follow protocol. Read the original manuscript called "pounds and inches" before you start asking to many questions because people can get SUPER tsety about it. Here is the link: http://www.hcgbodyshaper.com/simeon.pdf Use the search function for a list of protocol foods and see what works for you and what doesnt. I combine CERTAIN raw veggies and will use tomato as my fruit sometimes. I will combine lettuce and cucumbers but nothing else. So I can have two cups of lettuce with a few slices of cucumber chopped up, a tomato chopped up, and 3.5 ounces of chicken. I never combined cooked veggies. I read somewhere that mixing the cooked enzymes can cause sugar issues in the blood (it may be crap but I follow it anyway). I am on VLCD4 and I've lost 5.5lbs. I am considered "rogue" or "off Protocol" because I combine, I use splenda on ocassion, and I will use shirataki noodles if I'm feeling really hungry (only did this once so far on day 2, but was fine with it so I will use them on occasion). GL and i hope you find all the info you are looking for.

Thank You for your response.. My dr. handed me a packet of paperwork..I read through it all & then came the menu of things..It is soo confusing.. Looking back, it looks like everything I have eaten (Minus my protien) has been wrong... Gah...
Thank You for the help about the protocol foods.. I have tried using the search, but it helps when I look for the right words..LOL!
I will read the link you posted & see what else I can learn...Maybe tomorrow I can do a better job at this..
Thank You...

Send me a PM if you have any questions or need any encouragement... I'm learning as I go, but I have read almost every thread on the damn board LOL. I can also find stuff pretty quickly so if you need a link PM me and I will try to help as quickly as I can. I just started so you aren't that far behind me.

Ok, I think I am screwed if this is the only list of veggies we can eat..
"spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens,green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage"

I like salad, but I need dressing, I like cooked spinach, cooked cabbage, & cucumbers marinated in vinager... This is going to be a rough month...
I dont even know what beet-greens & chicory is & how to cook them (Off to go google them now!)
