Default Looking for reason not to give up
First week lost 8 pounds - yay! Second week about 3-4 lbs. Now in third week. Two days ago up .3, yesterday down 1 lb, today up .9 I am a good soldier. No cheating. No grissini, no bread at all. Just chicken and fish (will not do veal on ethical grounds). Please tell me not to give up! Because I am really ready to. I also know this is more than I would have lost on WW, but geez - it is much more work!

It's a typical pattern to see a week here and there of lower losses.

I stalled out for nearly a week and several times my scale weight has gone up. It is very discouraging, especially when you're following P&I to the letter. It's sometimes scary to see that scale creep up. But remember all that matters is your weight over the entire course, not on the individual days. Stick with it and hang in there. You can do it! You will be so glad you did!

The times when I have felt like giving up I have remembered the size of my butt in comparison to the size of someone else's butt (see the thread on Motivations just for fun). And I think about how BAD I want people to look at him and say "Damn, man, look what you traded in!" (Yeah, yeah I know that I am way past that marriage and have remarried very happily, but you know how women are....)

So what is it that has really really spurred you into this weight loss? What is it that really is closest to your heart (even if it's really shallow and petty, like mine)? What is it that you can tape to your mirror in the bathroom, or on your dashboard visor, or on the frig, or by the scales? What can you draw on your palm with a Sharpie to remind you at any point through the day what is driving you?

No matter what diet you do, you're going to have ups and downs. Don't let this week get you down. Do you watch "Biggest Loser?" Some of the contestants don't lose every single week, even with no cheating and 40+ hours a week of exercise. The ups and downs are really hard for me too. If I am expecting a good loss and have a gain, it sends me into a funk. This week I weighed on Monday and I'm planning on not weighing again until Saturday. Oh, but I want to.

"His new wife is skinny!"

Seriously, I love the "Damn, man, look what you traded in!" No matter what the circumstances of the divorce, it's hard not to want to rub it in a little. My Ex use to say, "You're fat and ugly" whenever he wanted to hurt my feelings. It worked too, hurt my feelings every time.

Thank you all so much! I can think of my motivation, but sometimes hard to believe that this diet will work for me. So -thanks!
Even though I knew I was just hurting myself, was very stressful day, bummed about so often not losing, so had cottage cheese - and way more than 100 gms and both grapefruit halfs at same time. today. Ah well - could have been worse. Back to tomorrow. Thanks.
And Cantesuta - glad to hear that he is your ex. Is that really your picture? You're gorgeous!

Oh no he didn't. That would make me want to go cry on Uncle Vido's shoulder so that Uncle Vido could go pay Ex a little visit! What a JERK. And yes, you ARE gorgeous!

Randyellen, am so glad you are thinking better. Let me know how the grapefruit halves went; I love grapefruit (will peel it and section it, believe it or not) and always want the entire thing when I eat it.

Another day closer to our goal, guys - we can do this!

Thanks Badkitty - OMG what a day! Lesson learned - take it easier!!! I had enough mixture left for about 10 days (doing 35). But because I want this to work, decided to make fresh batch, as some here say it loses potency. I am trying too hard! Had 2 extra vials. LONG story short - botched them, B.O.T.H. Do have new mixture, but inexact measurements . I have someone who muscle tests me for dosage, but still very anxiety making. ANOTHER long story short - at very end of day found that my compounding pharmacy carries it and I was able to get prescription . Instead of 5000 IU at $29 from India, getting 10000 IU at $200. - which is better than $950 an LA clinic wanted. Yes - you read that right. So I am burning some money - but so happy to be rid of anxiety. And that's my day. Feel very fortunate after all. Ate extra chicken (anxiety), but s'ok. re: grapefruit : does not seem to have effect .Lost .4 today. Up/down/up/down. :/

Thank you BadKitty! My wonderful daughter-in-law is from North Carolina. My son met her when he was in the Marines and they married before they left Okinawa. Since we had never met her, I didn't know what to expect. I got the gift of a lifetime. I love her so much.
