I am going to friend's for the game, and I know they are having scads of evil foods there. So....I have been working for the past 2 hours on what to eat/take and how to follow protocol as closely as I can without looking like a freaky-diet-nut. I cooked my shrimp, and then weighed 10 of them in grams and averaged them out, so a serving of 5 shrimp is 60 grams on average, so I can just pick 5 out of the bowl; I did the same thing with the cucumber slices (waste of time with such teeny nutritional numbers). I even did trials on how many "scoops" of homemade dip it would be to come out with an average gram per scoop. Everything is in portions of 5, so I can keep up with how many things I have eaten, rather than eat 1 at the time; I will just throw 5 shrimp on my plate and 5 tomatoes with cheese. No beer
![]() Shrimp, cold, boiled, peel your own, 10 jumbo, with scant 1/8 cup storebought cocktail sauce (150 calories, 6 carbs (cocktail sauce eek), 24 g protein, 120 g in weight) Cottage cheese dip, 20 scoops (80 calories, 3 carbs, 2 g fat, 12 g protein) Cucumber slices, 20 (10 w cheese, 10 without) (16 calories) Grape tomatoes, 20 (5 w cheese, 15 without) (20 calories, 6 g carbs) Totals: 266 calories, 15 carbs, 2 g fat, and 38 g protein. That gives me two proteins, and 2 veggies. I know we aren't supposed to have at one meal, and that cottage cheese is a potential staller, but I can't stand the thought of going and only eating 1 thing; I also tend to be dip crazy, so this fills that craving. I hope I don't come back with a tale of queso and wings..... I was getting hungry while cooking, so I warmed up a serving of my creamy tomato soup, so that I didn't add another protein or veggie for the day. Puts me at 397 calories for the day, so I can have a baked apple at bedtime, too, if I am still nip-pish. I made the dip from pureed cottage cheese, and then minced onion, garlic powder, rosemary, dried basil, and sea salt. It's actually really yummy, and I am hopeful that I can eat that for lunches with more cucumber slices next week; I like finger goods too much, and miss things like cheese and crackers most. |
