Default How does this diet work exactly?
I'm thinking the HCG keeps the hunger and cravings at bay, while at the same time you get your body to go into ketosis by having low carbs and high protein. Also eating little to no fat means the body will go for fat reserves, which will quicken fat loss. And somehow the HCG resets the hyperthalumus? in your brain to accept the lower weight and not want to go back to your original set point? I've done some reading, but none that actually describe a complete what's going on.

You need to read Pounds and Inches. Dr. Simeons explains it. http://hcgdietinfo.com/Dr-ATW-Simeon...and-Inches.htm

Some go into ketosis, some do not. You are not losing due to being in ketosis, you're losing because of the low calories forcing your body to dip into your abnormal fat stores that were previously inaccessible pre-hCG.

hCG is there for 3 reasons:
1) To curb the hunger
2) To make the abnormal fat accessible
3) To process nutrients/vitamins from your fat, rather than just flushing it out of your system

Post your injection phase you are maintaining a weight within a +/-2 pound range in order to teach your body that this is the weight it wishes to remain at, rather than seeking to work back to your previous weight.

Thanks Peter. So far so good. As long as I can substitute a little, and now I think I can, then I think it will be pretty easy. Haven't dealt with a social situation yet, so that could get tricky. The main potential problem I see is hair loss. I know it doesn't happen to everyone, but it would be just my luck. Good luck to you!
