Default Sensativity?
So I'm on week 1 of P3 and since I'm still new, I have a few questions. I've looked them up and gotten some great advice but.. just to "personalize" it a little more..

On Fri I added 2 eggs in the am, did fine on Sat weight.

On Sat, I added 3 eggs in the am, did great on Sun weight (no change at all!).

Sunday I had a few ounces of white american cheese from the deli counter (I didn't want the yellow food coloring). Lost .4 the next morning.

So of course, Monday.. I'm thinking I'm all good and perfect.. and I ate mozz, had half and half in my coffee and made cocoa crack with some heavy whipping cream. Also on that day, I did laundry for someone which is up and down stairs, etc. I mention this because when I do her laundry or do housecleaning for people, the next day I usually have a gain. Well, I did. I went up 1.8!! I didn't panic since I was still .2 below LDW and I knew I pigged out on stuff I hadn't tried yet AND I did the laundry.

So Tues, I did clean eating and Wed am, I was back down 1.2. Didn't quite make up for the 1.8 but it went down so I'm happy

So yesterday (wed) I tried mozz again. Up .6 today.

I'm wondering 3 things.. 1) I realize some cheese we can be more sensitive to then others but mozz?? It seems most that have allergies are not mozz that I've read, it would be more of the white american which I was fine with.

2) I did eat quite a bit of mozz. I made a caprese salad with a HUGE tomato so maybe it was just too much mozz? I certainly didn't eat that much american cheese the other day.

3) Why on earth is it that when I do my housecleaning days or laundry days, the next day I gain? I realize during housecleaning I'm doing 6+ hours of heavy cleaning but even on laundry days, its usually put a load in, go downstairs to relax for 40 min, go back up to get the wash, put in another load and bring down the dry to fold.. repeat for about 3-4 hours. It's not like its heavy cleaning, its just up and down stairs with a load of wash once every 45 min. But its a constant gain. It's each time so I know its not my food. My husband thinks its hysterical that I can do housework and gain weight. I think its quite frustrating, lol!

Thanks for reading!!!

Are you increasing your water intake? If not, your body may be hoarding the fluids left, causing a weight gain. Do you like cheese now, as in does it not have a different taste after going through P2? I don't like cheese anymore, it tastes like flavored gum paste and/or soft plastic.

No, I was keeping my water the same, between 70-80oz a day. That's a good point, maybe that will help! I didn't even think of that during my working days!

I love cheese. I'm definitely not as into it as in the past since I've been eating much better but I still want it (although I'm very picky now about the no-food coloring).

I was thinking it might have also been the coconut oil from the cocoa crack the other day and maybe yesterday I just consumed too much of the mozz. I'll give it a week and then try the mozz again.

You've had an amzing first round! Congrats!

You don't say what else you are eating. It is really important to keep your calories up in P3, inspite of how weird that sounds. DO IT. You may have a gain because you aren't eating enough! Coconut oil should not be a problem, or at least I haven't heard people say they've had a problem with it. I love it. I have heard of people having trouble with Mozz. The problem with lots of cheese is that they have a lot of sodium, so if you are eating 800 calories worth of cheese, your sodium could be way too high = water gain. You could also be getting hidden sugar, especially at the deli! The deli counter is not a friend to a P3'er. They might as well sprinkle the whole thing with brown sugar.

As for choices, I find that the closer my food is to being natural, the better off I am. I like cheese, too, and eat cheddar and yogurt cheese without any problem. But American cheese is an invention... it isn't really cheese.Same for Velveeta. Check this out: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-american-cheese.htm

Try to eat really good food, and not just lots of certain food you liked in your old life, or that you missed on P2. This is a NEW YOU coming about, so feed it well, and stick to the protocol. Best of luck!

Some people gain on certain cheeses, but not all. Some people can do hard cheeses, but not soft, for example. For others, all cheeses cause gains.

The housework is probably the equivalent of aerobics, which is probably not a good idea for you yet.

I seriously doubt the coconut oil is the problem. It is extremely beneficial for your health and weight loss. Dr. Kruse recommends it for everyone, especially overweight and obese patients.

Thank you.

LL, I am slowly increasing my calories. First two days I did about 800-1100 with the eggs. Then Sun/Mon I was up to about 1000-1300. Yesterday I think I hit 1400. I need to get to 2000 but I'm doing like Grammy suggested, slowly. I'm sticking to mainly p2 foods (just larger serving sizes) as I test for food allergies and introduce new things. I'm afraid to add too much new stuff, then I'll have to redo and figure what hurt me. I looked back and I did have 600 calories of mozz. Looking back, I knew it was a lot then but thought it would be ok since it was in my "fat" allowance. I probably just did wayyy to much of it. I'm certainly not going back to my previous way of eating! My favorite snack right now? Spinach with Bolthouse Ranch Dressing. It's like candy to me. Past me? HAHAHA I knew what spinach was.. but wouldn't touch it. Now, I can eat that stuff every day for every meal if I could!

Thanks for that article. I really had no idea. I listened to my Mom who "knows" deli cheese is good. It really shed some light for me. How do you know what is "real cheese" then? I'm still confused on that.

There is no away I'm giving up this 32/33lb weight loss. My old habits are dead! One thing I finally broke? Diet soda. No cravings, no urges, no desire. It's like you said, a new me and I'm SO HAPPY! Still have a long way to go but hopefully 2 more rounds will cover that!

Itsybitsy, unfortunately I need to do the housework, its my income

Maybe it was just the combination of what I pigged out on and the housework with not enough water.

Thanks all for your advice!!!

Oh no! I was not suggesting you give up your income! Just that aerobics may not be the best thing for you at this time. Can you slow your pace going up and down the stairs in addition to drinking the water??

I know you weren't suggesting that Yes, I can definitely do that on the laundry days. The housecleaning days I can't slow down but I can get in tons of water. I can't wait to see if that helps!

I am so pround of you! Your loss is awesome, but your attitude is AWARD WINNING!

How are you doing after the weekend?

As for cheese, and anything else for that matter, read the ingredients. Most cheese is milk, salt, enzymes... words you can pronounce! As for deli food, you can check their websites for specific items, like Sara Lee Roasted Turkey. Many groceries will have a brochure and you can read the ingredients there. Boarshead has some with no sugar, but they are rare. Keep going! You are mastering the beast!
