Default just wondering if thsi was normal
P2

Day 1: 205.2
Day 2: 202.8 (-2.4)
Day 3: 201.2 (-1.6)
Day 4: 200.2 (-1.0)

I'm guessing that the first few days are primarily water weight, and perhaps now I'm at that 1lb/day mark that some guys achieve? I hope its sustainable!

Target weight is 170 so I have a ways to go.

Also, Day 2 was really rough, now I'm feeling almost 'normal' with decent energy. Whew, I was concerned b/c I couldn't do my job.

OK, thanks Grammy!

It's been hard giving up my wine in the evenings, and I read that folks kicking the habit have used L-Glutamine (powdered form) to ease cravings. Will try a teaspoon this evening to see if it eases cravings. I need this diet to work.

Not to encourage bad habits, ..... and this suggestion is totally rogue in nature.....but if you find that not having wine is a deal breaker for you on this protocol....I have a suggestion....ahem....again, its totally rogue, but it works for many of us who find ourselves in social situations, or just want a glass of wine on a friday night to relax. basically, one glass of wine is equal in both carbs and calories to one serving of fruit. If you substitute....and only have one glass....it shouldnt stall you. Of course, everyone is different,....but I have done this and it has helped me stick to the diet better for longer periods, and through some social siturations where I needed to be seen with a glass of wine. Hope this helps.

Your looses look great! Of course your intestines are a little less filled since you aren't eating as much so that adds to bigger looses in the beginning! I know when I am in P2 I feel so clean & light just cause I am not stopped up from all the other junk in our foods these days!

I also didn't know about the wine although I am not really a wine drinker. I prefer liquor & sometimes just have a shot of tequila on the rocks with some fresh squeezed limes in it. I have to drink it slow to make it last =( If I have more than 3 or more I get AWFULLY sick while on HCG so just make sure never to overdue anything concerning alcohol on this diet!

Thanks all!

I classify myself as a heavy drinker (3-4 glasses of red wine/night, with 4+ on the weekends) and while it has not affected my career/success of family life, part of the reason for the hcg diet was not only dropping 30lbs, but kicking the habit for a month to 'detox'. I'd like to be in better control of my wine consumption and needed a reason: the diet provided the much needed framework. Also, I need to add a $1MM extra term life policy and dropping the weight, stabilizing blood sugar, and getting a better lipid panel will result in markedly better rates (I'll 'pay' for the diet in savings from two years of better life ins rates).

That said, I have several social engagements coming up (business travel) and have some planned 'cheats' coming up with full knowledge that it may slow down my weight loss. One cheat is in 1.5 weeks (looking forward to that) and one is around day 33.

By planning out the cheats I really do have something to look forward to.

It's already been a weird journey not drinking and the odd state of mind at times while on VLCD!

But at 7lbs down this morning I'm pretty damn pumped.
