Default New to hCG diet - Using Protein shake for lunch
I'm new to the hCG diet, actually i just did my 2 days of loading. Today is my first day on the low calorie meal plan.

My biggest problem is the protein during lunch. I was wondering if it is OK to drink a protein shake in place of the 4-6oz of protein and vegetables for lunch.

I have in the past used Lean Body Sugar Free before i went on this diet.

Do you guys or girls have any input on this?

Thank you
Thomas

I've occasionally used Jay Robb protein shakes without issues, but I just looked up the Lean Body ones (assuming you meant the ready to drink ones) and I think you might want to stay away from them, that's a lot of fat for one meal. Plus, they contain safflower oil, soy lecithin, sucralose, and ace-k which are all on the no-no list. Well, soy is kinda up for debate but I don't really reside on either side of the fence on that one. Protein count is pretty impressive, I have to say... The Jay Robb shakes also contain soy but they are sweetened with stevia. 110 cal, 0 fat, 25g protein and less than a third of the sodium. They're not RTD but if you are gonna use something, I'd use that instead.

I also use Jay Robb. Almost everyday. I mix it with frozen strawberries and water to make like an sorbet. Very good! and has not hindered my weight loss. I haven't updated my ticker.

Jay Robb Makes a protein Powder that does not contain soy. " Whey "is the the main ingredient.
Excellent for this HCG program. I have used this a lot and get continued losses just replacing
meat in the diet. Great for vegetarians also.
Per serving:
Calories: 110
Fat: 0
Carbohydrate: 1 gram
Sugar:0
Protein: 25 grams
Sodium: 150 grams
Great hit of potassium also!

Actually the Lecithin in Jay Robb shakes IS Soy Lecithin (I just looked it up to double-check). But, like I said, I'm on the fence about whether it's actually ok for us. It doesn't seem to affect me personally so I don't go out of my way to avoid it...
