Default FILET MIGNON !!!!
OMG!
I am SOooooooooooooo amazed!

Yesterday was day 14 of Phase 2 in Round 1 for me.
Total loss of 12.5 lbs

I've been eating chicken for 14 days
(I've never been a "fish" person, but the flounder I tried gagged me)
so I decided to "celebrate" by having beef for dinner.
(I know I have to change my mindset and not reward myself with food)
I saved my protein from lunch - had both grains with my veggy - and had 6 oz of FILET MIGNON for a scrumptious dinner.
(Because I was shopping without the list of appropriate cuts of meat so I compromised by reducing the total weight by one oz.)
It was so incredibly yummy.

I figured I'd have a 0lbs LOSS DAY today.

This morning I was DOWN A WHOLE LB!!
Yaaaaaaaaay!!
Woo Hoo!!!

Congratulations Driver Mama.

I am just a few days in front of you and I'm also a bit tired of eating chicken every day. I'm going to follow your lead and have a filet mignon tomorrow. Maybe I can lose a whole LB too. I have only lost one whole LB twice so far - usually I lose between .4 and .6 LB a day. I've lost 14LB in 19 days, so less than you. You're doing great!

Thanks Mags

I was so amazed this morning.

But I have had 1lb days before
so I may not be a great lead to follow.
My average is .83 a day.

I do hope to keep up this rate.

And it tasted SO good.
It was worth the (temporary, 1 day) stall I expected.

Thanks again for the encouragement Mags.

So I got the filet mignon at Costco
and, you know, you don't just buy one filet there.
Which means that I had more
and I had another scrumptious serving last night.

The only negative is:
of the $22 package
half was fat I can't eat
but hubby is in heaven!

I am adding beef as a part of my regular menu
because this morning I had

LOST 1.5 lbs!
Yay!

I think I've found my groove:
those foods that work best for this old body
on this protocol.

Way to go Driver Mama!

It's 5 p.m. here and I'm just starting to prepare mine. I hope that I have the same results as you did.

I live on the island of Lanzarote which is one of the Canary Islands. We're situated about 70 miles off the north-west coast of Africa.

Congrats on those losses, DriverMama! I do well on beef too and really like it. I don't do as well on the ground beef, but steak works great for me. Think I will have some for dinner!

Thanks, ljrgirl,

I was about to head out looking for 93% fat free ground beef.
Darn, guess I'll just have to buy a steak instead.
Poor me.

Do you have beef for one meal or do you skip days?

Please take a look at the website Utah Beef Council. There is a chart under the nutrition link for the fat amounts in the chick, beef, steak, ground... good info. you will know how much fat is in 100 grams of beef! May help on a stall... krzz

Thanks Krzz for the info,

http://www.utahbeef.org/Nutrition.htm

America's favorite beef cuts are leaner than ever before. Now 29 cuts of beef meet government guidelines for lean*. And the 12 leanest cuts have on average, only one more gram of saturated fat than a skinless chicken breast (per 3-ounce serving).

Lean Beef vs. Chicken
Cut of Meat Saturated Fat Total Fat
Skinless Chicken Breast 0.9 g 3.0 g
Eye Round Roast/Steak 1.4 g 4.0 g
Sirloin Tip Side Steak 1.6 g 4.1 g
Top Round Roast/Steak 1.6 g 4.6 g
Bottom Round Roast/Steak 1.7 g 4.9 g
Top Sirloin Steak 1.9 g 4.9 g
Brisket, Flat Half 1.9 g 5.1 g
95% Lean Ground Beef 2.4 g 5.1 g
Round Tip Roast/Steak 1.9 g 5.3 g
Round Steak 1.9 g 5.3 g
Shank Crosscuts 1.9 g 5.4 g
Chuck Shoulder Pot Roast 1.8 g 5.7 g
Sirloin Tip Center Roast/Steak 2.1 g 5.8 g
Chuck Shoulder Steak 1.9 g 6.0 g
Bottom Round (Western Griller) Steak 2.2 g 6.0 g
Top Loin (strip) Steak 2.3 g 6.0 g
Shoulder Petite Tender & Medallions 2.4 g 6.1 g
Flank Steak 2.6 g 6.3 g
Shoulder Center (Ranch) Steak 2.4 g 6.5 g
Tri-Tip Roast/Steak 2.6 g 7.1 g
Tenderloin Roast/Steak 2.7 g 7.1 g
T-bone Steak 3.0 g 8.2 g
Skinless Chicken Thigh 2.6 g 9.2 g
These 29 beef cuts all easily fit within a balanced diet that includes less than 65 total fat grams each day
* Less than 10 grams of total fat, 4.5 grams or less of saturated fat, and less than 95 milligrams of cholesterol per 3-ounce serving and per 100 grams

Today's cattle are much leaner, and the fat is trimmed from cuts before it reaches your home. As a result, beef is 20 percent leaner than the USDA indicated just 14 years ago. But the real news is that you can control the leanness of your beef by taking a few simple steps:

• Choose the leanest cuts by looking for LOIN or ROUND in the name.

• Buy beef that's 90% lean or higher.

• Trim away any visible outside fat before cooking.

• Use low-fat cooking methods such as broiling, roasting, or grilling.

• Eat reasonable portion sizes. One serving of beef is the size of a deck of cards.

DriverMama,

I don't eat beef everyday...about 3 times a week and just for one meal. You definitely do not want to eat beef for both meals in the same day. You can eat the other proteins for both meals in the same day, but not beef.

Mikkydee, Sorry for not replying before.

I was cooking the dinner and enjoying my steak and tomatoes. It was sooooo delicious (but far too small).

There are a few canaries about but they are all in cages in peoples' houses!! The Canary Islands were named after the wild dogs (latin - "canis") that were found here when the Spanish Conquistadores arrived in the 15th Century.

The Canary Islands are the European version of the Caribbean. We live from tourism, tomatoes and bananas. Warm all the year round, we have a subtropical climate but without the hurricanes. No poisonous snakes or insects and we're far enough from the mainland of Europe to feel different. Spanish is the local language but English is also widely spoken.
