I read that one study showed that women who drank 2 glasses (500 ml) of fat free milk after weightlifting exercise gained more muscles and lost more fat than women who drank energy drinks. The study lasted for 12 weeks and after the weigh in, women who drank milk barely gained any weight since their fat loss was balanced out by the lean muscles they gained.
They explained that it could be the protein, calcium and vitamin D in milk that made it effective for weight loss. |
