I have that same problem too. It's very difficult to keep on the diet when pmsing because I don't feel very good when I deprive myself of the foods I want to eat. During PMS I crave for chocolates, potato chips, french fries, and cheesy pizza and it sabotages my diet. And I also feel lazy during the period and exercise less or sometimes skip it. I have to push myself too much to stay active and it makes me so tired and bored. Any suggestions that can help is highly appreciated. I'm sure that many of us women feel this way as well. What do you do deal with the cravings?

I guess all of us women go through that trouble during the PMS period. It's a matter of self control and eating the right foods to beat the cravings. When we PMS we may experience low levels of magnesium and chocolates are rich in magnesium that's why we oftentimes crave for it during this period. Take magnesium supplements, and magnesium rich foods such as peanut butter, almonds, and cashews. The craving of carb-rich foods is normal during the PMS period because Serotonin is low during this period and the body uses carbohydrates to produce serotonin. Eat more of whole-grain cereals, breads, starchy vegetables, and fruits during PMS

Oh now I understand why I crave for chocolates, sweets, and carbohydrate rich foods when I am pmsing. I should look for magnesium supplement and have it handy during that period. The good thing is today when I was craving for fatty foods, I had a whole wheat bread and peanut butter. I did feel satisfied and not deprived when I had it then. This is really very helpful! Thanks!
