Hi All..I am posting this for my frustrated wife....she is looking to lose 10-15 lbs (although I think she looks great) and I am looking to lose 30-40 lbs. We have been on it for 3 + weeks now...I was a couch potato throughout the summer and fall, very little exercise..got up over 230 lbs at 5'10" and a medium build. I have lost 13+ lbs and am happy with progress....She is 5'7" 153 lbs strong European descent who looks like she is not a pound over 130lbs....as I said been over three weeks and she has lost only 1.5lb. She eats cottage cheese, cereal and fruit religiously every day...drinks tea, works out 45min cardio 7x week, dinner is fish or chicken, does not eat much bread...only thing is she drinks very little water...at her work is cold so to drink cold water makes her colder...that is the only thing we can think of that is impeding progress...could it also be her food intake is routine and body getting used to it? I have had a few cheat days along the way and she has stuck rigid to it...any advice would be much appreciated.

Cruise around on this formum. The answers are here.
It doesn't sound like your wife eats much in the way of raw veggies; or any veggies. Vegetables are a major key to losing weight and restoring health. If your wife can't drink cold water at work, hot water with a bit of lemon or lime will work even better. She can take it in a thermos. Lemon and lime are astringents. They strip mucus out of the system just like when you use a finger bowl in a restaurant. You can't drink water with lemon or lime in it all the time. Plain water is still needed. Another useful practice is using a juice machine. Lots of nutrition, no weight gain, and the only nutritional way to increase the rate of cell replacement. Juicing during a fast is a very effective way of improving health and losing weight. If you don't have a juice machine, the best and least expensive is the Waring. The one I have is 850 watts, 2 speed. The Jack LaLanne units are poorly designed and will not give satisfactory service despite what you see on TV. I'll write a post about juicing under a separate thread. |
