"I know it isnt a quick fix (I wish it were) but I am hoping I have what it takes to got through it and completely change my lifeand the way I look at food."

It's not a quick fix... but it IS a fix, which is more than you can say about most diets. Learn it, do it, live it. You can do this.

Yes its true there are no "quick fixes" or none of us would need this support forum which Im so glad I found

Im keeping on keeping on.....my weight loss seems slow but Im ok with that because at least Im not gaining. I have been slacking on exercise

Tril are there extremely personal reasons why June is a bad month for you? I read what you wrote and I feel the same way about this month I lost my son 2 years ago and this month is his birthday seems to get harder every year instead of easier like people tell me (how it could get "easier" I will never know..I guess those people havent lost a child and are only trying to help)...it was probably a crazy time to start a diet but I havent cheated and I am an emotional eater.....I appreciate ketosis and how it curbs my hunger..of course I never "had" to be hungry to eat before but now I know if I have the wrong things it will undo all the work I put into getting where I am.

alfmom... so sorry to hear about the loss of your son. Our friends lost their son years ago and our neighbors lost theirs last year. I would never tell anyone it gets easier. But from what they tell me... you just end up finding a way to live with it. And that only happens because you simply have no other choice but to learn. So let me send you some cyber hugs ::::hugs:::: and hope that today is a day that living with it is possible.

I can certainly understand your emotinal eating. If you do, please don't beat yourself up over it. This, too, is part of the process of learning to live with it. I can't imagine your pain. It hurts to even think about it.

Thanks so much for your kind words and belive it I could feel the hug... I appreciate it.
Im not cheating on my low carbing but I am cheating myself out of exercise ..I know this and own it for right now...my motivation will come back and I will be burning up the hiking trails.
I cant believe June is almost over this year is going by so fast. My daughter will be 4 in October and it seems like she was just born.
Do we have a challenge like this every month?

Anytime you need a cyber hug, let me know... I have a limitless supply of them!

We started these monthly challenges this past year. It started with a "get through the holidays" challenge and then became monthly challenges. We'll keep doing them as long as there're are members who want to!

Thanks Tril .. And Im glad these challenges keep going. I need to be held accountable.

Today I actually (not willingly haha I had to drag myself) walked 45 minutes on the treadmill. I DOOO feel better after. Why cant I remember how good it feels after and be anxious to do it? AHHH thats how I got this way I suppose.

I got a 260.8 weigh-in this morning. It's probably going to come down to the wire for me to reach my goal.

Thanks utopia You hang in there I think you are building muscle from all of your workouts

Joeblow it looks like you have done a great job this month going from 268.6 to 260........you have a few more days but you should be really proud of what you accomplished 8 pounds gone forever.

I wish. It seems like I've been fighting that 262 lbs for weeks. I jump back up again to 262 and change this morning.

Newbie...sorta. Second real time around with Atkins. First time lasted for only a month. Started June 1st. Lost 20 + for sure. I have finally weighed. Not good. Tracking my wait now. 407. No meds, 40 years old. In June alone my acid reflux is gone!. I'm certainly impatient...I feel much better in just one month! Ate too much during induction, but kept the carbs out. No sweet tea!(From the South). Adding exercise tomorrow. Except for weight, health is good... but I know I'm asking for trouble. Certainly embarrased where I am at in life with my physical well being. Looking for some accountability people/partner.

I'm committing to cut portions to a normal level and go to a couple salads a day. Getting plenty of protein. Praying it comes off fairly quick (reasonlbly) Certainly with what I have to lose, will now begin to document. Help! No excuses for me

don't have a lot of time, Dawg (love the name!!), but i'll just say:

well done! welcome...ahve you read the book? (gotta read the book!!) - look, the weight will come off - stick to the plan (for life), and if it takes a year, awesome - if it takes 3 years - well, where else will you be in 3 years??

(even 3 years is awesome)

keep us posted with any questions, and how you're doing - i'm sure some other folks will be here to welcome you too!

I would like to lose 5 lbs!

My goal for this month is to use the treadmill for at least half an hour, 4 x a week.

And try to avoid carb temptation
