Default loosing so slowly......
hi everyone,

I started Atkins about 3weeks ago, I am doing the induction but so far I have only lost 6 pounds...I started at 206 pounds and would like to loose 60-65 pounds. I feel I am loosing a bit slow, considering I have a lot of weight to loose. I am sticking with the 20 carb per day pretty striclty and I am not depriving myself form fat and calories..I am also exercising 5 times a week, I am doing cardio for 1 to 1.5 hours, and do weight machines 3 times a week....although I have noticed that I have lost noticeable inches around my waist...I figured that maybe its because I am gaining muscle mass so my weight is not comming off as drasticaly as some people I read about....? or am I just have high metabolic resistance..? here is a average daily menu for me:

breakfast : 3 eggs, 1/2small tomato, 1Tbp green pepper, 2 strips of bacon, 2 small mushrooms, cooked in olive oil

2hours of GYM workout

lunch: 1cup siced cucumber, 12oz. trout fillet cooked with 2 cloves of garlic in butter

snack: 1scope of egg salad(hard boil eggs mayo, mustard), or 4 oz of cheese (sharp chedder or swiss)

dinner: Cajun chicken breast( 10 oz breast coated with parika and other spices) sauteed in butter with 3cloves of garlic, 1/2 cup mushrooms.

I have had some almonds on couple of occasions not every day
Lots lots of water through out the day

Am I doing somthing wrong? or is it just my metabolic resistance is high? wonder if some one else had similar experience like mine???

MY status

weight :200
height:5,6"
gender : female
age: 43

Your diet looks good except that nuts are not allowed even in moderation during Induction. Cut those and see if that helps.

Also, what are you drinking? Perhaps you have some hidden carbs there?

Personal question - have you been able to use the bathroom okay? If not, you may be holding weight from that.

There are so many diet pills available. I don't know how they might affect your weight loss when you try to do it without them.

I think that since you have noticed a difference in inches around your waist that you are gaining muscle as you lose fat.

Are you feeling better? Are you close less tight? If so, then I wouldn't be so concerned about what the scales are saying.

It appears you going pretty hard at the workout so you are likely gaining muscle which is great!

I would suggest you read chapter 20 in the DANDR book. When you need to lose more than 50# and you lose 6# in the first 14 days, that puts you between average to high resistance to weight loss. Chapter 20 will help you figure out what my contribute to any resistance you have and give you ideas on things to try.

thank you for your encouragement !! I will keep going to finaly make this my LAST DIET just that some of the results I read on other people is really making me a little discouraged, but maybe I should learn not to let the " numbers" bother me, should believe in how I feel and how the cloth is fitting on me
