Guy... I agree with you. It's all or nothing. Unlike counting calories, if you eat too many carbs in one day you'll kick yourself out of ketosis... and back into burning glucose... and all those cravings/hunger/insulin responses will come back like a tidal wave. Counting calories... eating low fat... a few extra calories in one day just slows your loss and makes you a little less hungry that day. For US, it's whole different ballgame. You can't "fudge" low carb the way you can low fat or low calorie. You can't have an "off" day and not suffer the consequences. There's no such thing as just this one piece of cake and I'll go right back on my diet... it causes a chemical shift in your body that can take 3 to 4 days to recover from. And if you DON'T recover from it... that can easily lead to gaining a LOT of weight coming back. Just ask me... 41# (yes, you read that right) later I'm having to start all over. It began with a vacation that I didn't deal with when I got home (we bought a house 3 days after I returned and then I moved - again - and well, I just didn't put me first for months).
All that to say... I agree with you! LOL |
