Hey Clyde! welcome to the gang!
I have found that when I am absolutely strict with the amount of carbohydrate I eat, my appetite for protein will begin to limit itself. Suddenly I am satisfied with far less than I used to be hungry for. We are made with a natural, God-given instinct for hunger and fullness. They work in conjunction with each other. If I am not really hungry when I get started eating, I have a much harder time discerning when I am full. I am not talking about fasting. I am talking about being able to wait til mealtime to eat. And that is something that I am unable to do if I eat carbs. But I can if I stay on Atkins. The driving, controlling hunger is gone. I feel in control at last. |
