I have been on the Atkins diet since March and have had impressive results (losing nearly 50 lbs).
I recently went on vacation and decided to reward myself by deviating from the diet for a few days. Whilst I didn't go crazy on sweets (I don't have much of a sweet tooth), I did have quite a bit of carbs in the way of potatoes, bread & beer. I knew I would obviously gain weight during my holiday, but was actually pretty shocked to see that I gained 6 lbs in 10 days. Given that the first huge loss of weight during induction is due to the loss of stored water needed for glucose, is it safe to assume that the majority of this rapid weight gain is water weight as well? Please tell me this is the case, as I can't see how I could have gained 6 lbs of fat in 10 days. I am now back on induction and hope to see this gain wiped out very soon. |
