Calculating an accurate Basal Metabolic Rate is kinda a pain,,, you go to your doctor and get your BMI and your Body Fat test, and they use that to figure out what your base calorie burn is.... then you can start looking at what you burn on your exercise, and for that you really need to know your heart rate, since that's what tells you how hard your body is working.

The only reason I have a pretty accurate result is because I wear a heart rate monitor when I work out, so I was able to give precise info to the nutritionist and the doctor.
