Vegas was a ball. I have been twice and enjoyed myself both times. I let myself completely dork out and did the Star Trek experience as well.

KYP congrats on the bike!! I rode myself for almost 8 years until just this past July 4th when I sold my bike. I wasn't getting time to ride it much anymore, and frankly in this economy I'd rather have the $$ collecting dust in the bank than the $$ sitting in my driveway!! But riding a motorcycle is still the single greatest JOY I ever experienced. There's nothing like it, and only someone who rides can fully understand that. ENJOY!!!!!

I live less than 4 miles from work, less than 1/4 mile from most stores I frequent. I'd have kept it if I lived father away from everything. Mine got 46 mpg. As close as I am to everything, it's not that big a deal. Plus I live in the deep south, and maybe I'm just getting old or something but riding in 98-102 temperature pretty much wipes out the fun aspect of riding! LOL!

What kind of bike did you buy?

I bought another Ducati, but not a 996. This time I bought a M900 Monster with some custom stuff, like the 944 engine kit and some souped up brakes etc.

Default Personal rewards for goals?
I just broke back under 200 lbs, so after some consideration, I went out and gave myself a reward... a big one.

I went out and bought myself a new motorcycle. Hopefully this one will last. It's a reward and a motivator for me, which is part of the reason I wanted it. Quite simply, I wouldn't fit on it if I let myself flop back to an old weight, so it reminds me to keep the pounds off and to stay diligent.

Anyone else got any personal goals they're striving towards?

I'd also like to note that I keep reading posts everywhere that say things like "honestly, and who can eat that many eggs in a day?"

Golly gee, I can eat eggs till the house is out of em. Hard boil 20 eggs? Don't turn your back on me then, chuckles, or you'll have a bowl of shells.

Hi,

I have the most beautiful REALLY expensive dress that I am wearing to a black tie ball on new years eve. It is a size 10, so in US Sizes would be a 6, and REALLY expensive shoes and accessories sitting there patiently waiting for me to get fabulous, well more fabulous that I am right now

But that's my dream, and then 1 year down the road I am going to have a tummy tuck to get rid of the excess skin after having two little angels. But I have to maintain for a year myself (my choice), and that's my ultimate treat, because after spending that sort of money I don't want to blow it by putting the weight back on.

Rgds

That whole tummy tuck/ abdominoplasty thing is so expensive, I've looked into it for myself and here in the States it would be roughly 8,000 dollars completely on my end, not covered by any kind of health coverage... obviously.

On a side note, I've never understood why dress sizes are different per country, why girls shoes sizes are different than guys, and.....

WHAT THE BLOODY H ELL IS DOUBLE CREAM LOL

My mother spent a year of grad school in London and she gets double cream delivered to her, has ever since. I've never investigated what it is but it sure doesn't appear to be Heavy Whipping Cream like some people have kinda hinted it is.

Kyp... I found the answer for you on the double cream. It's not the same as heavy cream here.

"Double cream weighs in at 48% butterfat, or at least 6% higher than the highest-fat cream available in the United States — heavy cream or heavy whipping cream, which is at least 36% to 40% fat (the wonderful New England dairy from which we buy our cream produces a 42%-fat cream, although it doesn't brag about it). British recipes call for double cream because they can — it's available and adds lots of richness to your dish."

Here's a neat list of dairy products, what they are and how much fat they have:

Personal goals/rewards:

I've always wanted to take horseback riding lessons. Most of the stables have a weight limit for lessons--so you don't break the horse's back! I've gotten below all of those restrictions now.

So, when I get down to 175 (1.5 pounds to go), I plan to sign up for riding lessons. It's good exercise and will keep me motivated to stay slim.

When I was a kid, I had a rather large pony that I rode all the time. It was so much fun! We'd go galloping across the fields--just like flying! However, I only rode bareback, with just a home-made rope halter. I never learned to ride with a saddle and bridle with a bit. I guess if I learn English style, it's closer to bareback than Western style.

Also, when I reach my goal of 136, I plan to take a trip to either New York or Paris, or both if I can afford it.

When I get under 200 lbs, I'd like to fly to Vegas for a long weekend. I was there a year ago last April (it was my birthday) and had a great time. I know, I'd have a better time if I was lighter.

When I hit goal, heck I might have a heart attack from the excitment. If I don't, I'll spend a month, during summer break, in the south of France.

Now that's my kind of motivation. I love to travel, but am currently a tad afraid of those plane seats. Yikes.

I know what you mean about the plane seats! Skimpy! The last time I flew to Las Vegas, I weight about 245 lbs. It was so uncomfortable. I felt like I couldn't move the whole time. Then, when I flew to Wisconsin last month, I was at 178. What a difference!

I think a trip to France is the perfect reward. Parlez-vous francais?

Karen - Do I speak French? Je savoir un peu. I believe that's right, but I could have it wrong.

No, actually I don't. I did take it in high school but that was about a hundred years ago. I'd love to learn however.
