Check it out... interesting that the fats/oils are above the fruit, and cheese is above the veggies and fruit and in with the legumes/nuts/fats. They really do expect people to limit cheese! It says: "To lose weight; eat foods from the base of the pyramid – lean protein, leafy greens, vegetables and healthy oils. As you get closer to your goal; move up the pyramid – and up your options – fiber-rich fruits, dairy, nuts, legumes and whole grains. See any added sugar or trans fats? Neither do we." Tril |

Why is cheese limited so?
I've read from so many people that they eat nothing but meat and cheese on Atkins (I know, that means modified Atkins) and they have no problems. What about cheese makes it necessary to limit it? I haven't really so far, and while I don't just eat cheese all day, I eat more than 4 ounces and I'm shedding pounds. I'm still trying to learn the science behind it all. ![]() Shei |
