Yes you can certainly get into this and be successful at losing weight. You just need to get into it and get a routine. The first few days are always the hardest aren't they? Keep yourself busy so you don't think about food too much (you sound pretty busy anyway). The first few days of a diet, I always find myself obsessing over food and when I will next be able to eat. That's the great thing about Atkins - you don't have to deny yourself and as long as you are relatively sensible, you can eat whenever you get hungry. Even better is the fact that your appetite will diminish. I can't believe how little appetite i have some days. I have to force myself to eat a meal! Very unusual for me!
