I couldn't find any DaVinci syrups anywhere although I was intrigued by everyone using them, but the target by my house had this Archer Farms Sugar Free syrups which appeared to be the same thing.
0 calories, 0 fats, 10 mg sodium, and 0 carbs, made with liquid splenda. So I had my first 12 oz cup of coffee this morning in months with a single serving suggestion of this and I have to admit it tasted pretty good. A quick review of the ingredients didn't list any sugar alcohols so I felt pretty comfortable using it, but I gotta admit I felt pretty funky on the way into work today. I dunno if it was the caffeine or a glucose high, because honestly I can't even remember what a glucose high feels like. I'm getting off of induction on the 19th of July anyway, I think I will shelve this stuff along with the coffee until then, but in the mean time I'm spending the entire day wondering whether that stuff did something to my blood sugar levels and it's gonna be maddening. It sure felt funky, and as I used to be a coffee fanatic, I really don't remember coffee ever making me feel that way. Ironically I called target to get the ingredient list and they refused to give it to me unless I had the lot number off of the bottle, which is of course sitting in my cabinet. Then they said it would take 56 hours to be submitted to the actual manufacturer, which they would not give me the phone number for. They don't exactly strive for excellence in customer service, I'm thinking. In any case, the jury is so out on coffee and caffeine in terms of whether or not it's good or bad for metabolism that I give up and will just not put it back in until after induction. |

Did you have the coffee on an empty stomach? That will sometimes make my stomach do flip flops. Not always, just sometimes. There might also be an ingredient (not sugar or sugar alcohols) in the syrup that's making you feel funky.
Do you have any cheese with you? That's might smooth things out (protein and fat together). Tril |

Yeah eggs are going back on pretty soon... I think I'm actually a bit low on fats.
I used to have eggs on saturday and sunday morning but I've been really careful about the calories for the last 20 days. Trying to get the weight right where I want it when I get off of induction, besides it coincides with a wrestling tournament that I'm entering on the 19th. I've mentioned before that I had a motorcycle accident, and my left leg/hip/knee is still not 100 percent, so the lighter I am when I wrestle, the lighter the guy I match up against will be as well, and that's gonna be good for my leg. |
