Don't give up dude!!!! Number 3893 could be your lucky number. After
reading your post don't feel bad , I had lost a lot of weight once upon a time and figured that one Little Debbie frosted honey bunn wouldn't hurt . Well I suspect several hundred honey buns and 2 years later here I am. Never again Iv'e learned my lesson. I think if you read alot of the posts around here you will see just about everyone has had their problems with their demons. I just really try to stay away from my demons, I now swing really wide at the honey bun display Go get 'em JC

Default My Easter meltdow
boy did i screw the pooch on this one.

as a single 30 year old guy with no kids i've always wanted to play easter bunny. so this saturday i get a call from a girl i've been in love with a good decade (long agonising emo story that i'll spare you) and when she called me and asked me if i wanted to come play "easter bunny" i obviously jumpped at the chance.

so for 2 kids, she had a table full fo candy to fill thier baskets with...

instantly i knew i was in huge trouble.

she dumps out all the favorites, the names of which i will leave out as to not tempt anyone to the dark side (chocolate). and we begin to fill the baskets.

then she un wraps a peanut butter egg and hand feeds me a bite

all downhill from there for about 30 reasons.

so we proceded to smash down on the surpluss candy like heroin addicts with a key to the methadone clinic.

i shudder to think of the ammount of carbs i ingested this weekend.

once i had gotten past the inital justification of screwing up my ketosis i then doubly screwed myself and rationalised having a small (as if the size matters) shamrock shake on the way to my moms for easter, then after sitting down for dinner, a ton more schtuff i shouldn't even look at let alone ingest in large quantities.

so here i sit monday afternoon kicking myself for the stupid setback.

why am i sharing this story...

because it's a prime example of how one small mistake leads to/justifies the next.

and lets face it most of us are guilty of being great justifiers. this is partly why i'm so damn overweight to begin with.

one nibble on a peanut butter easter egg and i wound up smashing a pile of candy, a shake, and a ton of carb laden food in less than 48 hours.

so stupid.

in short don't be like me. now i'm back to square one on ketosis, with a fresh craving for more chocolate and a generaly cranky disposition given this self inflicted dietary setback.

hope everyones easter went better than mine did.

yeah i know, but the more i beat myself up about a stupid mistake the less likely i'll be to do it again.

last night after getting home from easter dinner i drank 2 2liters of water and walked a mile on my treadmill.

today i've been eating small snacks all day (hard boiled eggs and ham) and i'm looking forward to a nice atkins friendly dinner this evening.

also more treadmilling.

i've lost about 6-8 inches from my waist since halloween and i'm not stopping.

thanks for support, i need it today. i'm feeling like the worlds biggest jackass.

i ate fun-dip for god's sake...fun-dip. i haven't had fun-dip in 20 years, why i thought it would be a good idea saturday night is beyond me.

well actually thats a lie, i know why i had fun dip...but she's no excuse

If there was a table filled with candy, I think the very last thing I would go for is a fun dip My daughter is terrible with those things, I'll find clumps of spitty colored sugar everywhere, then she'll leave the half licked dipping stick on a table somewhere. Out out, damned fun-dips. I'd have to go for the jellybeans, not the big ones, but the little ones like Jelly Belly. mmmmm, Jelly Bellys

i shouldn't even get started on this because listing the names of everyones favorite candies is rather counter productive inthe support section...

but lets just say all the brands and flavors were well represented.

160 dollars worth of candy, and basket toys covers all the bases.

i just want to fire off nasty e-mails to all the candy companies who thought it'd be cute to make thier confectionary temptresses in the shape of an egg.

reminds me of the guy who thought it'd be cute to spell lisp with an "s"...

also the person responsible for the invention of butterfinger cream filled eggs deserves a stearn talking to.

but i digress...

on the plus side i did manage to get my chocolate fix and my ice cream fix out of the way in the same weekend so i should be good for another couple months. :P

EDIT:

also back in my more "adventerous/experimental" days the $5 bag of assorted jelly belly jelly beans from meijers was perfect for an 8 hour...ummm...vacation.

one at a time.

it always blew my mind when i came across the buttered popcorn one

"wow man...it tastes just like popcorn....WOOOOOOWWWWW"

i promised to spare you the emo story didn't i?

this is a classic tragic story of a girl who claims to want a sweet lovable guy, but only dates complete tool's who she thinks she can change into a sweet lovable guy, which never works, so she calls her sweet loveable guy friend of 10 years to complain about how there's no sweet lovable guys out there.

things have been more flirty than usuall and the mood has changed a bit now that she's got a house of her own and filed for divorce from a friend and former boss of mine...it's a "complicated" situation to say the least.

but no...i did not get the girl for the 3892 time.

yeah i'm not giving up...in fact i've noticed a spurt in the weight i've lost. like over the last couple weeks i seem to have lost quite a bit. i just feel lighter.

easter was trying just as thanksgiving, my birthday, christmas, ect...

but they are all behind me now. no worries till halloween

man i realy need to get a scale this is starting to bug me.

for everyone else who does have a scale is there certian weeks that your body just looses more weight than average for some reason?

like are there cycles of dips and plateaus?

assuming of course that you stay with your same plan and nothing changes, does anyone else get spurts of better than average weightloss or am i just imagining things?

Everybody is different , alot of years ago when I did Atkins I lost alot of weight fast the first two weeks , then slowed down for awhile . Once I went maybe 3 weeks of no loss , them BAM I would lose 5 pounds right away . In my experiance it's been more of a long term thing and you will be surprised at your overall average weight loss will be. I have a good scale which I think is important , but I try not to weigh everyday. I try to weigh the same day every week and keep a weekly weight loss record. I think I would make myself crazy if I weighed everyday. Some weeks are way better than other weeks for sure. JC

Obi Wan,
I too was tempted by the pretty colors and adoringly small sized confections.
I have been off track for a month, started by a horrible cold/bronchitis.

I am also back on track. I should have done induction again, but I cant bear it.
Tomorrow is my three month weigh in and it wont be pretty.

Keep up the good work and get the girl.

this is exactly how it's been going for me i think. again...without a scale i can't verify any of this...but i can gauge it by how well my clothes fit. seems like i'll go a few weeks with little to no change then BAM i'm pulling my belt tighter.

thanks for the verification.

well this weekend i didn't fair much better...had some chips and salsa when i got stuck at a friends house waiting for my ride. i sat there for a good 15 minutes starin at that bowl of chips and salsa untill i finaly gave in.

ah well...

i've found it easier to just stay away from anyone with "normal" food, as i don't seem to have much self controll. especially when i've been drinking...

should probably stop that too eh?

as per the girl it's nothing new, we've been flirting with each other for 10 years, i figure she's got at least 2 more failed relationships with total jerkoffs before she opens her eyes.

somehow she's immune to the jedi mindtrick...

till then i'm having fun elsewhere.

it's crazy now that i've lost some weight i don't care so much, i'll just make better use of the contacts list in my cell phone.

ya know, you girls can be very frustrating sometimes.
