Default Suggestions for strugglers
The Atkins diet has improved my life so much that I wanted to put in a few suggestions to anyone who is struggling. These might not be for the purists but I can only say that it works for me and I have come down from 192lbs to 170lbs. Not a massive loss but it was all I needed. First of all I would say do not try and get your target weight in one go. I did the induction then went on to OWL for a couple of weeks, then back to induction. Like, do it in stages. There was no way that I could drink all the water that is stated. So, I didn't. I did get some bottles of no carb flavoured water to sip at times. I had plenty of veg's. I tried vitamin pills but they did not help and with some of the latest research I have seen were not likely to do so. I did not completely stop alcohol. I would try to stick to whiskey or wine. And, when on OWL would have a beer. I am a big snacker so the following is what really saved me. I always had a supply of Flaxseed Muffins, Walnut Crackers, Crustless Quiche (individual size) and Cheddar Cheese Biscuits. That is, I did not pig out on these things but they were very useful. Main ingredient for a lot of this stuff is Protein Powder. I just used the cheap Soya one from Holland and Barratt. All these recipes are on this site. I also used Belberry Jam on the muffins. Not one problem with constipation and no tiredness after day 3. Hope this helps someone and does not upset the purists.

i bought some online tonight from a site called honeyvillegrain . com. I read an article that soy protein isolate may be better for women (and I've been wanting to try it anyhow and get an unflavored version so I don't have to have a vanilla taste to everything I make with my current whey protein lol)

They looked ok and are based in Utah. I have a very good friend from Utah so I figured they must be ok... LOL. I'll let everyone know how it is once I get it and use it. Oh yeah, and everything on their site ships for $4.49 they said, no matter how much you order... reminded me of the overstock website with their $2.95 shipping deal...

Brightest Blessings,
Lisa

It is good to see some posts that are not 100% atkins perfect diet but still gain some success for the long term.

I have lost 2 stone in weight over the last 2 months however I struggle to keep to any diet, but this new lifestyle of eating does best for me for sure.

I do my very best to stay within sensible limits, & it works for me.

Got to agree. There is no other way that I could have done it.

I allow myself the occasional cheat and have still lost 17 pounds since Jan. 9. It may not be perfect, but it's working and I don't feel deprived.
