Default Shared guided imagery
I'm curious if it's common for two people to share a single imagery 'journey.' I see a counselor for personal issues, and I chose a New Age hypnotherapist so that she'd understand my spiritual 'take' on things. It's working quite well.

When she first started hypnotizing/relaxing me and taking me on guided imagery, I was a reluctant to go through a particular door, on the other side of which she had instructed me Mother would be waiting to speak with me.

Mother is a big issue for me, so I wasn't enthusiastic at all. Anyway, to reassure me, my counselor assured me that she 'would be right there with me.' She had relaxed as she talked me down, and had her eyes closed as she gave me instruction. Being naive, I took her literally, and simply ASSUMED that she would enter that doorway with me, and see whatever I saw on the other side.

And she did. She not only saw Mother, she felt the icy dead cold of that sterile white room. When we spoke of it afterwards, she was honestly amazed that she had seen what I saw.

So what I'm wondering is this: Is is unusual for two people to join on a single imagery journey?

I figured I'd hear "Oh yeah, it happens all the time" or something like that.

All I hear is crickets chirping, so I guess this isn't a topic of interest...

Blue Tiger,
I don't see why it would be impossible. I think spirit can do amazing things. As for no one commenting yet, I think it's a slow day for traffic here. The day is not over with so there will be other posts. Don't forget the time zones & it is Friday.

I don't think it's impossible at all. I have had shared dreams with people...meaning we dreamed of the same exact thing and felt everything the same. So it would make sense to me that it's totally possible and could happen. Spirit works in many ways.

Love and blessings

Wow Capnstruggler, I never even thought of shared dreaming. That must have been quite intriguing.

Actually I know shared imagery works, as I have intentionally taken my counselor/hypnotist with me several times since that initial episode. Each time there was something I wanted to show her, and I invited her to come with me. The intent seems to be the only requirement. I don't think someone who simply happened to be in the same area would be able to 'plug in.' She has met several of my guides.

Several years ago, I served as 'hypnotist' and took my son and a friend on several imagery journeys. I did not enter the journeys, but they BOTH saw and reported details of the same places and events. It was, to say the least, very interesting.

That's why I was wondering if other people do this, too. I'm not sure if this is something that revolves around me (I'm not sold on my being that particularly gifted lol) or if it is a natural phenomenon associated with guided imagery itself.

Any thoughts?

Definitely possible, I participate in group healing meditations and on allot of these we see each other on the journey to where the healing is to take place. The first time I participated in this and seen them I though it was a manifestation of the mind until afterwards when we all shared what we seen the people and details were identical, an awesome experience.

Thanks Starstriker! I'd love to experience a group healing meditation someday. I'm marking it down on my 'bucket list' and will keep my eyes/senses open for an opportunity to participate in one. It must be quite a powerful experience!

Not all of us are online at the same time lol and Fridays are super busy for me.

No it's not unusual at all. When I do radio readings, a medium usually tag teams with me. Meaning we take turns reading the caller. Typically we both start to finish each others sentences because we are tapped into the same Universal Energy. Just like ESP or Telepathy, we can join in with other's dreams, visions and thoughts - if we're invited to.

In shared dreams, one person astral travels into the other person's dream

Thanks so much, Pagan Medium.

This is exactly what I was hoping, that co-traveling/shared viewing is fairly common. This seems to open up such a vast realm of potential exploration, but I had never seen it addressed in any of the books I've read.

hmm try reading Lisa William's new one "The survival of the soul" I am not completely done with it yet, but she talks about astral traveling to people's dreams to help them.
