If the Giants lose? It's a game, I don't mind the Giants, but it won't be nothing to lose sleep over...if they do, whatever, good luck next year, one of two isn't so bad. The flip side, if the Patriots lose, the consequences will be much more dire, losing twice to the Giants in the Superbowl is gonna leave a mark.

I think the Patriots will lose given the match-ups anyways, and there's a better than not chance that Brady is gonna get put on his back, in a dome, where it's surely gonna hurt a lot worse than if he'd got put on his back on a grass field...look for Brady to start crying by the end of the 2nd Quarter, it'll be glorious.

I think the Giants, by their talk are over-confident.

It's the same talk that was going on in 2007, and we all know what happened then...

Confidence is an edge in big games anyways, if you're confident that you can, it's more likely that you will...The Patriots just don't seem to have the same confidence, it's almost sad...

The statisticians are trying to bring mathematics and economics to decisions made on field strategy and player drafting. It’s called analytics and in many, but not all, ways it runs counter to decades of football philosophy.

The numbers show that:

— Icing the kicker—calling a last-second timeout to put more pressure on him—doesn’t work.

— The cliche that defense wins championships is wrong.

— Top first-round draft picks are overvalued compared to picks a bit lower. So says Tobias Moskowitz, a University of Chicago economics professor and co-author of the book “Scorecasting.”

Stats guys can spout the numbers proving them right. But when football teams hit the field and general managers compile their rosters, all that doesn’t seem to matter. They punt on fourth-and-2 even though they have a 75 percent chance of making a first down. They ice the kicker. And they talk about how it all starts and ends on the defensive side of the line, even though when Moskowitz ran the numbers, the best offense won as many championships as the best defense.

Yep, it's gonna be worse for the Patriots fans when the Patriots lose this coming Sunday than it'd be for the Giants fans if the Giants lose...ole Hawk here is proof positive of that if he's mumbling about statisticians and icing kickers, it's not almost sad, it is sad....

Win or lose, we've to five Super Bowls in ten years. Life is good.

Lose and it'll be more than ten years, new coaches, general manager, entire team roster including a new quarterback before the Patriots become relevant again...in my opinion.

Other Patriots fans that I know don't give a fuck about those five Superbowl wins, just the loss the last time around and they'll disown Belichick and Brady if they lose this upcoming Sunday...there not bashful about it either, what strikes me as odd is that they're used to fail after fail because they're also Red Sox fans...what makes football any different from baseball?

So, who's gonna win tommorrow? *shrugs* All's I know is that out of 15 pool squares, I got crap numbers. The only #'s I got that give me any confidence is 0-0 (also 9-1, but I split that square with a friend).

Oh, and BTW, I am putting my custom Pats/Giants M&M's out during the pre-game party (food, band, booze, it shall be epic). Whichever bowl gets emptied first shall determine the eventual winner of the game (scientific method FTW )

Thanks. This New York New England rivalry is unbelievable between the Pats/Jets/Giants the Sox/Yankees.

I now know how the Yankees fans feel. The Pats with their success are hated as much as the Yankees around the country.

Works both ways.

People love winners. When the Yanks sucked, there were only local fans. When they began to dominate, everyone was an overnight Yankee fan.

The rivalries remain localized. Jets hate Giants, Yanks hate Mets, etc.

Everyone hates everything in Mass.

Not to worry, by tomorrow nobody will hate New England for their successes anymore!

Oh...and enjoy the game! I still say there's a real chance that the last team with the ball, will win.

I agree. I do sense a bit of over-confidence on the Giants side, though

Just heard Belichick took Underwood out,and put Silvestro in his place?

Seems a bit of risky move for the Big Game, putting in someone who has only been on the practice squads?

guess a coach has to make the best move and decision for the team, but still seems a bit risky, imo.
