I'm using Kubuntu...the most Windows-like. You still need to do a fair bit of command-line work to get it the way you like it, but I'm working on that, still. I used to be an old VoodooDos guy...back when...so it won't take forever...but anything Unix related is new to me.

Fast? I dunno, just yet...but I was sick of Vista...I'll keep ya updated.

Yeah, Vista was definitely a dog, for sure! I prefer Linux on my home machine, but am familiar with the major players at work.

I may go ahead and download it. I am using Ubuntu, so I'll check out the debian package. Maybe someone has already released a binary? guess i'll check.

The Unix stuff does take a little getting used to, but for those familiar with DOS, it's not too bad. Surprising how many have never touched or seen a terminal window or command prompt, these days!

It'll be a little while before I have it all figured out...for now...it beats running Vista.

Of course, 'most anything does.

Konqueror itself seems pretty standard...not so much better or worse than Firefox or Chrome...Exploder, of course, blows.

Linux?

A million reasons...to support the open source movement...to get away from Vista, the worst crap ever called an operating system...because after I installed the new 500 gig HD on my laptop after the old drive crashed, anything less seemed to be an insult...for the experience of learning Linux...

I use XP still........... I used 98 for as long as I could................

I will continue to use XP as long as I can, or until I get away from a computer or into an apple..
