until I actually heard the name pronounced, I said "mal-in-oi" too. If someone who's never heard it pronounced correctly talks to someone else who's never heard it pronounced correctly they wont know they are pronouncing it wrong! Ive actually known someone who had never seen "chihuahua" written out before and they got all confused. They read it as chee-hoo-a-hoo-a!
