I hope you guys didn't take offense. In my house with my dogs I know how I want things to be. So I enforce the rule from day 1. They'll live. They get treats etc but in a bowl.

With that being said I have a lot of family and friends who don't mind it. And when I go there it doesn't bother me at all. Its their house, not mine. Just like they respect the no scraps rule here

They respect the scrap rules here too. The rules are "they are mine to give to you". Sometimes he gets them, sometimes he doesn't.

No one here is saying that the dogs will be missing out on something for not getting scraps.

I do it because I want to and my dog follows the appropriate rules. If he doesn't follow commands, he gets nothing. If you have different expectations of your dog, that's fine, but I feel like you're trying to imply something here about those that give scraps.
