yes the year old pup I got is an outside pup for now. He's been outside a year and until he's fully healed up to where I can give him a proper flea bath he'll be outside.
I would not sweat it to much.. I am sure he will be just fine with pine needles. Dogs are tough as hell.. Mine will lay on the tile floor for an hour or two sleeping..lol
I had considered getting hay, but the truth is he'll only be outside for another week or so. Of course I could throw the rest of the hay on the ground and get some grass seeds too. But most of my grass seed would end up at the street. Damn hill.
Not sure where to put this. But for my outside dog I'm thinking of using pinestraw as bedding. I have it in abundance in my yard and it's nod doing anything but making it look worse, so I have to get it up either way, but if I can reuse it as bedding that'll be even better.
You can get a bale of hay from any tractor supply store or ace hardware for like 4 bucks.. And that is a lot of hay... But pine needles would probably work in a pinch. Not as dry or comfortable as hay though.
