Default How Does Your Dog Act When He/She Is In Trouble?
Amy is such a drama queen. She got overexcited while on a walk and I was trying to give someone directions. She jumped up on me with no warning (her back paws hit my chest - she's THAT good a jumper) then started wrestling the leash. She KNOWS she's not allowed to do that, but she got overexcited while I was distracted. We're working on it.

I got the leash out of her mouth quickly and she knew I wasn't messing around. I had her in a down position in about three minutes and told her "BAD DOG" loudly. She spent the rest of the walk as far behind me as the leash would allow, ears back, tail down, giving me mournful little glances. I refused to smile at her or say anything kind, so she just kept doing it. When we got home she immediately ran up to her bed (not mine like she normally does) and has been laying there refusing to make eye contact with me.

I'll let her stew for a while. She needs to learn this is 100% unacceptable. And my chain leash just showed up today so we'll be switching to that.

It's been a while, but for the two I could remember clearly:

Shadow: Mournful "my life is a hellhole" grade A+ ASPCA commercial face
Lefty: Derpy happy face

Veronica has 3 tactics she uses when she is in trouble:
1. Clueless and vacant - "What? Is something wrong? How bout a snack"?
2. Mournful and desolate - "Nobidy loves me, everybody hates me, think I'll go eat some worms"
3. Self rightous and indignant - "What are you mad at me for??? You're the one who made me do it"!!!!!!

The first one is Torque, and the second is Cleo.. Both to a tee.

Only takes a loud yell for Gilbert to act like a sad, beat puppy. It's so embarrassing!

max knows when he is doing something bad so when he goes to lets say chew on my high heels he slinks up to one and slowly inches his face towards, all the while his ears and tail are down, then snatches and runs. Then when I go get my shoe back he drops it and goes belly up giving me his pitiful face

I think some dogs are just more sensitive than others. My girl, Chassis is very sensitive. If/when I yell, even if it is at my other dog, she runs and hides under our bed and won't come out for a long time. You can't even lure her out with a tasty treat. She avoids eye contact. She's very easy to discipline so I don't (can't) yell at her. Axle on the other hand is the complete opposite. You can yell at him but it doesn't seem to get through. Just that happy derpy boy. But if he needs discipline, I have to do it without Chassis around or she seems to think I am angry with her.

Snow lays down and gives me those big ol'Amber puppy eyes like 'mommy i didn't mean it even though i did it...'

Koi doesn't know trouble until I have to pop her. Then she runs to daddy like he is going to save her.

Sounds like I am talking about my children lol!

My parents were visiting last week and Amy totally tried to run to them to save her when I was getting mad at her. My mom petted her once when she was in trouble and then I threatened to kick my mom out if she did it again.

So the next time, I was scolding Amy and she ran to my mom and mom just sat on her hands and ignored her and poor Amy had to shuffle away, completely defeated.

Both mine put their heads down and give me "the eyes" but if you walk towards prince to make him go on the porch or to the yard to calm down and run off steam...he makes you chase him.

Nick hangs his head and looks pitiful and tries to lick you.
Rosie tucks her tail and goes to the person who didn't scold her, or hides in her bedroom.
Frankie looks scared and hides under my desk.

These are funny!

Hades usually self-hates, I imagine if he had oppose able thumbs he'd cut himself. Go hard emo on me. Not in a vindictive way, like; I'll get you for being mean to me, won't you feel awful, more a self-punishment way; I'm so stupid! No wonder nobody loves me! Falling on the sword kind of thing.

But other times he just looks at me, gives me his complete attention, ears perked in my direction, but does absolutely nothing. It's these times that remind me he's not very bright and even though sometimes he can do some pretty cool things, he's still just intelluctually challenged dog that sometimes lucks into genius. Like Rainman.

Peanut could careless most of the time. sometimes he will get down low and try to slink away.

now he is more funny when something is getting ready to happen to him that he doesn't like such as his ears cleaned, nails trimmed or if he sees me go to the medicine cabinet for the dreaded q-tips or cotton balls he hides in his man cave or the bath tub and won't come out even for his favorite words how ever lately popcicles cheer him up.

my boy doesn't know how to act, typically he just starts doing zoomies but he is a good boy and really doesn't get in trouble. Logan will run from ya cause the thing he gets in trouble for is bolting into the house from the breezeway and he will run to a couch and jump on it and try to blend in lol pretty funny but I don't yell at my dogs or scold them, I just correct what they are doing, for Logan that is snatching a collar and taking him to where he is supposed to be.

Bandit cocks his head to the side and gives the sad puppy look. " I didn't mean to mommy, I swear"
Sadie thinks she never does anything wrong. She has the happy "someones gonna get it look" until she realizes it her then she gives the " i tried to stop it but it still fell" (lamp on coffee table that I just had to clean up when she knows she is not supposed to be on the table)
Bella is so laid back that she usually don't get into trouble. Her main issue is not wanting to come inside when its time and she will give the "I know your not talking to me"look. then when you head toward her, she rolls over to get a belly rub about a foot away she hauls ass to the porch lol
Ares on the other hand seems he is into something. I can yell at him and he will lay down, cross his paws and lower his head to where it is resting on his paws looking up at me with his eyes, "what happened mommy, why you mad" look.

The only thing Sydney ever does wrong is eat poop, not come when called when eating a stick, or eating the "helicopters" fromt he maple tree. She gives me the look that she has seen me and will eat w/e she has asap and come in the house.

King-doesn't do a whole lot, but usually just acts like he's not listening.

Sophie- well... she's either really peppy and goes to her kennel OR the usual scold is for chewing on king when he's laying down. All though she's deaf she knows when I YELL and looks around frantically. If i have to flick her body with my finger or grab he collar quick and move her, she usually gives the devil eyes that tell you she's about to go into a rage! Usually she just scrunches her nose and quiver's her lips at you n goes after King or Sydney 10x harder. It's extremely hard not to laugh when she scrunches her nose.

It doesn't seem to phase her. She just stands there with this "I'm so happy I have no idea who you are mad at but I know its not me" look on her face wagging her tail.

Our puppy is still young, but so far he just ignores me. Hopefully as the months go by he catches on.
