Default Free Stacking
It's pretty funny I'm trying to teach my boy, Kojack, how to stack and i notice periodically he'll Free stack if I'm in the kitchen and he's in the living room. So i had one of my friends snap a picture of him quickly before he moved. I must say I like the form he's coming into. I'm hoping he'll be a Classic Ambully.
Lol

Nice looking dog! What were his bloodlines? I dont think I remember you saying but there have been a couple new AmBully people on here so I get confused lol

He looks really good though, nice put together body, nice legs, and not to heavy a bone! Looks like a nice Classic right now

Thanks Pookie I realized he has ACTUALLY grew up on me. You know they always look like a puppy (if you got them when they were a puppy) so i was shocked! lol

He's Razor Edge, Camelot and some Gotti.

I'm looking forward to registering him with ABKC and start taking him to some shows. Already got him UKC, but there are no shows around my area anytime soon.

Also, doing research I realized maybe a few months ago, He's actually a Sable color. (Just to make sure can anyone give me the definition on Sable so i know I"m sure this time) Lol. but question is there such thing as a Sable Tri? just curious

And i'm pretty sure ppl tell me they shave down the inside hair of the ears. I tried my first time today. I must say it looks better. Anyone has any techniques to do a quality job of it? Also, what about his whiskers? do ppl cut those down too?

Lol Yea I realized that when I was looking at the calendar and realized Bear was going to be a year, had him since the day he turned 4 weeks and now my little puppy isnt so little!

He looks very nice though, I dont know if its just me but RE dogs tend to throw the nicer more Classic style dogs than any other blood. I like him a lot, you can really see the Amstaff influence in him. He could probably do alright in the UKC, but I wouldnt do that if he is AmBully, show him as one ya know?

Dont ask me about Sable, I get confused with it. I think its like a tanner color with black on the tips or something? Lol A better picture would help define his color.

Most people who show their dogs do. It gives a cleaner look to the face and ears.

He looks good.

I take clippers to my dogs ears, and trim down whiskers. As Pook said, it gives the dogs head a cleaner appearance.

Trim what down how much? Ears or whiskers? I trim the ear hair using a 1" blade and trim the whiskers down to the root.

And yes, he will get used to it with time.

Oh, and you are welcome. I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it.

Yes, there is. Sable refers to the black overlay, and you can have Sable tri's I'd love to see more of your boy with better lighting!

I like his feet and his front (though it's a little straight), but he's high in the rear.

He's handsome, from what I can see anyway!

Yes, generally people in UKC shave ears & whiskers. I use a #40 blade for both. I'm not sure how to explain how much to shave.. but here's a picture of Sako where you can clearly see his ears:

I HATE it when people have dogs with cropped ears and don't shave the fuzzies.. it looks so ratty!

Shaving ears and whiskers? Now I've heard it all. No offense to the members here who do it. I don't blame you. I blame the whole show-dog scene that allowed things like this to happen in the first place. I'm sure the Dogmen of years ago are spinning in their grave as to what's happening to their breed.

I think I'd probably shave ears & whiskers even if I wasn't showing, to be honest. I really like the look it gives.. I'm seriously considering shaving Wilson's whiskers, they drive me nuts because they're all wonky.

Thanks everyone!! I actually just attempted to clipping the hair and shaved down his whiskers. I must say I do like the new look. I just don't know how to get all the hair from the ears. I guess over time he'll get comfortable and i can get more and more.

Teal - is it bad that he's high in the back? I notice that too. His back legs are high. but he'll grow into them right?

How old is he again? He might grow a bit more and even out, but he might not. He also not "properly" stacked so that might be playing in to it a bit too.

Oh yea, I know he's not properly stacked. That was just me catching him not paying attention. But he's turning a year in March. I know he'll thicken out, his dad, mom, auntie and uncles are all Classic style thick.

I doubt he'll grow up much more, he'll fill out, but he'll probably always be high in the rear.

Is that a bad thing for him to be high in the rear?
