Yes, it's possible she was still in heat when you took her in. Rita had very long heat cycles and sometimes went into heat back to back due to hormone imbalance.
I just kept mine as calm as possible and did a lot of crate rest. Rita acted pretty blah for the first day or two after her surgery and then she tried to go back to normal behavior while I tried to keep her from hurting herself until she healed. ---------- Post added at 10:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:53 AM ---------- Some dogs are a bit more sensitive to the spay surgery than others. You could ask for pain meds, i personally didnt but my dog was fine. Spaying a dog in heat from what i understand is a slightly more difficult procedure even though im not sure why. |
