This is going to be long.

Sasha, my pitbull who as some of you know became pregnant, was stolen. My boyfriend and I were in a sticky situation moving into a new place and we needed someone to take care of her for a few days. My boyfriend was about to go to court and needed a babysitter for the day, but we also needed someone for a few days. A friend of a friend offered to take her at the courthouse in exchange for a puppy. He was hesitant but the friend of his (who he has known for 8 years) persuaded him that this was a guy he could trust. He left us his cell phone number.

We called pretty much every day and he hardly answered. When he did, he would say she was doing great and that he got her checked at the vet, and bought her this, and did that, etc etc. We asked to visit her and he would say we could then make some excuse to call us later and never pick up again.

I tried to go to the police in the town she was stolen in and they said they could not do anything since we did not live in that town. I called animal control and they also said they could not do anything even though that's where she was stolen.

She was due end of September, and I've posted multiple craigslist ads in hopes of finding her. I've gotten the worst of the worst calls and people saying she saw her walking down the street, malnourished, no collar, no owner, not bothering anyone even the kids who were playing in the street she walked right by.

Recently I've gotten more calls than ever. Someone on my facebook who I don't know but we've been friends online for awhile messaged me today saying she knows the girl who's been taking care of the puppies and she was trying to sell my dog. She knew this because she recognized the pictures I had of Sasha on my facebook and on my craigslist post. She gave me the link to the girl and I added her today. She has the puppies, and I messaged her saying, "Hey, I'm interested in a puppy, are they available" and she says "Hey! I'm sorry about ur dog! Billy is a skeez! I currently have no clue where sasha is other then somewhere in Somerville. he sold her as soon as he found out I knew the truth. " I hid all my pictures of my dog so the only way she could have known I was looking for her/the puppies was if someone told her. I asked her for her phone number, and she replied, "I can't talk on the phone right now but I'd you have questions I can try to answer them. I hAve questions myself", to which I answered, "i cant talk on facebook i have questions i need answered on the phone and ill answer any of your questions." She signed off. I have gotten her phone number from a reliable source but I have not called her (the conversation I just posted was 30 minutes ago) because I want to be prepared going into this situation I want to say the right things and go about it the right way.


Call from 3 days ago, I believe its from the girl I added. When my boyfriend was calling the guy who kidnapped her daily, sometimes his girlfriend picked up. When I heard this message I woke my boyfriend up right away and he said that the voice was of the girlfriend and she was faking the story. I asked how positive he was that it was her voice and he said 100%, he knew that voice from anywhere.

It sounds sketchy and very unprofessional.

Now I don't know what to do, She insists she does not know Sasha's location. How do I go about this and can I write a police report if I was not at the location when Sasha was taken? I want my dog and the puppies back, but I know she has already sold one even though they're 2 and a half weeks old!

How do I go about getting Sasha back, or at least finding her and making sure she is in a stable home right now, and getting the puppies back?

The guy never gave us his address, every time we asked for it he made some excuse he had to go. The police also said they could not help with a name and cell phone number, they needed an address.
