Pink--thank you for the pictures! beautiful dogs! I know I like the Classic style APBT's but I think my main confusion is vvvvv (read the first sentence of below comment)

KSims---ohh i see...I think that's where I'm getting confused the most...I know I want an APBT but when I start looking at breeder's websites that say they have APBT's, most of them are all HUGE and look like AmBully's to me, but say they are UKC registered....so i'm having a hard time figuring out who is telling the truth & who is lying. But since you say that many UKC registered APBT's are acutally supposed to be called AmBullies, it makes a little more sense, but also adds to my confusion....I looove the dog in the first pic that I posted, the blue fawn female, & she looks like the kind I want & her website says she is an APBT but others on here say she is an AmBully?!? & off topic...is your name Kenny?? If so, I do believe you are friends with my cousin Shawn. lol

MJJean---thank you, I do plan on visiting shows to watch for show purposes anyways, I will deff have to chat with some of the breeders. & I'm going to try to do more research also but everything on the internet is either complete bull crap or completely confusing! lol
My advice is to stop browsing kennel sites for the time being. You will be hard-pressed to find quality breeders who advertise online, anyway. And you will only confuse yourself further because often time these kennels sites are designed solely to sell puppies- not educate the buyer.

I suggest first becoming familiar with the written standards of each registry: The UKC APBT standard, the ADBA APBT standard, and the AKC AmStaff standard. The standards can be found on each individual registry's website, respectively. This link will also prove helpful, Visual comparison of top winning UKC, AKC and ADBA dogs

The next step is to determine which style of dog best suits your wants and needs. All 3 dogs can obviously be shown in their respective registries, and some registries will even allow dual (And triple) registration. The UKC and AKC offer more in the way of sports, while the ADBA only offers weight pull and conformation.
