Default it felt so good i have to share...
Saturday, me my Son and Blue take a walk to the local park/dog park..My son is on his scooter ahead of us, we enter the park, and the dog park is the first part of the whole park..

As we walk by the dog park, i already feel the eyes on me and Blue, the heads turning , the people mumbling, etc..

we pass a couple with their son, who looked to be around 3-4 years old, and u hear dad, tell mom, dear please pick up (enter lil boys name here), i already knew why, but as im pasing them another couple with their ide say at the most 3 year old daughter and the couple ask if Blue is pit bull, i say no american bully, they look at me like dear in headlights, and say oh hes a beautiful dog, is he mean/viscious, i chuckle and say no not at all, he loves kids and people and as far as other dgs he is just a big play fein, but doesnt realize his own strength and can play riough at times thats all..

the lil girl is reaching out to touch Blue but the parents are scared to let her, i tell them is alright, so i put Blue in a sit, and tell the parents, let her get closer, they do, so as she got close enough i tell Blue, Paw, he raises the left paw out to the lil girl who gently shook his paw, i tell Blue other paw, and he gives her the right, the parents are all AWWWWWW thats so cute at this point, now, my girlfriend has tought Blue that when she puts her hand , palm facing forward towards him, and says kiss, he smooches her hand, (not the same way i give him the hand signal to stay), the parents are just falling for Blue at his point, when te lil girl just grabs Blue by his cheeks and goes to kiss him on the mouth, the parents get a lil scared, and soon as they do, Blue just plants one right across the lil girls face, a nice big lick..

the whole time the father whom told his wife to pick up his son is watching the whole thing, and yes it felt great to prove whatever their thoughts were wrong about Blue...Yes he looks intimidating, some say like a grey short haired wolf, and some say like a devlish gargoyl, due to his eye color and coat color..But Blue is the sweetest, i love him to death and makes me so proud, when displaying such great behavior in public, especially in situations like this when the majority of the crowds are clearing the path to let us by, and think Blue is out to eat all of them alive, then a couple that doesnt know either of us, allow their lil girl to greet Blue and receive a paw and nice wet kiss on her mouth...

---------- Post added at 11:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:45 AM ----------

and just to add, Blue had his first "outdoor bath" this weekend after a good playdate with his buddy Mason, my parents Boxer, who covers Blue in slobber everytime..

At first he was scared of the hose when i turned it on, he tried running for the hills, but after comforting him letting him know its ok, he let me hose him down, lather him up, and rinse with no problems..

Another thing was. Blue has been frightened by car rides, he wuold again try running for the hills, the minute ide open the back door or the hatch, so ide have to pick him up, then have someone open the door or hatch for me, once in teh car you culd tell he was nervous, salivating alot..
Well after his bath, and he was all dry, i took my son to the skate shop, put Blue in the car, normally i put him in the hatch of my Magnum(wagon), but i put him in the back seat so he could stick his head out the window, he seemed to love it..we go in the skate shop, yes Blue was allowed in too, my son gets new grips and grip tape for his scooter, we walk to the car, i tell my son to open the back door and who just jumped right in, Blue, again this was just another moment that felt good and i wanted to share it...

thanks for reading "my weekend with Blue" lol

yea I love taking daisy to the dog park and proving people wrong, the problem is other people bring da dogs that bite. So I generally only take her where I can keep a lead on her now. She got bit in the lip by a husky german shepord. She didn't care just yelped and contiued playing but that could definitely escalate ad ofcourse daisy would get blamed :y

It's not about proving people wrong, it's about not giving them the opportunity to be proven right.

read that along time ago, I'm aware what a pitbull is bred for. I don't go to the park with the purpose to prove people wrong, it's just a side effect. I take her there to train her with distractions.

You can train with distractions without going to the dog park.

I know most ppl on here say NEVER take one there but I gotta say: If you truley know your dog and how it reacts to other dogs then I feel its ok. Kay everyone pounce on me all at the same time

I know my dog. While he would ignore other dogs if one ever got in his face it would be game on! Plus you own what appears to be a pit bull mix (again a high tendency to be DA) so your dog could turn on in a split second with no warning. Who's fault would that be? Or if another dog decided to pick a fight with your dog (you don't know other people's dogs) and it defended itself. Guess what? All the blame would be on your dog and BSL will be knocking on your towns door. People seriously just don't get it

Plus dog parks are just filthy disease ridden places. There are so many disease breeding in those places. I just don't get why someone would want to take their dog there.

Sounds awesome! I love when my dogs shock people with their good behavior. Great job working with Blue to have him so people ready.

I understand people's concerns about dog parks but I totally understood what you were saying. Near our house their is a park with a popular dog park...but it also has a walking trail that is several miles long. I take my dogs their a fair amount in the summer. You can be at a dog park without actually being in it

Glad Blue performed so well....it's always a good feeling
