Default a whole bunch of question
ok so i have a list of question.

Is blue buffalo or TOTW a better food? Our pup is 12 weeks.

What are your views on ear cropping?

Do they have to be cropped to show?

do you think fixing your dog is a must if it doesnt cause any issues?

if you feed raw, should you do it everyday or do you think twice a week is ok?

ok so i have a list of question.

We'll do our best to answer them for you.

Is blue buffalo or TOTW a better food? Our pup is 12 weeks.

Both are good foods and it is really up to you. I say just pick one and stick with it and observe how your dog does over time (like 3-4 months...not weeks ).

What are your views on ear cropping?

I really don't have any. It is a safe and old practice. Personally, I have many better ways to spend $200+, so I won't do it (although I did have it done to one dog back in the late 90's). But your dog is getting up in age to have it done, so if you are going to do it, consult with your vet and get the ball rolling (do a search on the topic and you'll find some great info on what to look for, what to discuss with your vet, aftercare, etc.). This really is an issue where it is the owner's own personal likes and dislikes that shine through.

Do they have to be cropped to show?

Nope.

do you think fixing your dog is a must if it doesnt cause any issues?

It is a "must" in the cases of health issues that mandate or strongly suggest such surgery and in the case of irresponsible owners. Many owners don't want to deal with a female in heat or a male that whines and tries to run away because a bitch a mile away is in heat. And some people just don't even want to risk the "oops" litter (although such litters are truly rare occurrences....probably 99.999999 could've easily been prevented).

if you feed raw, should you do it everyday or do you think twice a week is ok?

Well, if that is all you feed, you need to feed it everyday. You like to eat every day, don't you? If you are supplementing with it or just giving it as a treat, 2-3 times a week is good for the dog if it's good for you.
My replies in red.

They're both good, I suppose TOTW could be "better" since it's grain free, and not all versions of Blue Buffalo are (their grain free is called Wilderness). I'm not a big fan of feeding younger pups foods that are high in protein though, which TOTW is.

What are your views on ear cropping?

Not a fan. Don't see a point in putting a dog through surgery that is purely for cosmetic reasons.

Do they have to be cropped to show?

Not that I'm aware of.

do you think fixing your dog is a must if it doesnt cause any issues?

Personally, I think 95% (if not more) dogs should be fixed. The majority of people aren't responsible enough to keep intact dogs, and considering I volunteer at a shelter and see the ramifications of unwanted litters, and dogs/puppies being put down, I have a pretty strong stance on spaying/neutering.

if you feed raw, should you do it everyday or do you think twice a week is ok?

Not sure on this one.

Well i feed blue buffalo wilderness, i think it's a great food, that said i do not know a whole lot about TOTW.

What are your views on ear cropping?
If you like cropped ears, that crop them, if not than don't. I'm neither pro-crop or anti-crop. Looks nice on some dogs, bad on others. I personally wouldn't risk it, as if the vet messes up there's not a damn thing i can do about it. But on some dogs, it's BEAUTIFUL

Do they have to be cropped to show
No.

do you think fixing your dog is a must if it doesnt cause any issues?
If you can keep your dog from getting with another dog, if you're willing to abort or euthanize any 'oops' litters, than i see no reason to fix your dog.
BUT if cannot guarantee you can do this 100% without a doubt, than i feel you should fix your dog. There are WAY too many dogs in the world.

If you choose to fix, i suggest waiting until the dog is 2 years old to do so.

if you feed raw, should you do it everyday or do you think twice a week is ok?
I don't feed raw, So i can't tell ya

I heard it is good, but it doesn't mean it's good for your dog will be good for yours. Just observe their reaction on the food you give them and when it is ok, stick with it.

What are your views on ear cropping?
It is a matter of personal preferrence, if that would make you like your dog better.. then go for it.

Do they have to be cropped to show?
Nope.

do you think fixing your dog is a must if it doesnt cause any issues?
It's a must for irresponsible owners, if you are a starter.. fix it then learn from it while you are enjoying yoru dogs company.

if you feed raw, should you do it everyday or do you think twice a week is ok?
It's ok, but make sure you will also check the quality of raw foods you are giving, and deworm them regularly

I've had great results with TOTW. Although if I had the cash for Orijen I'd feed that.

Cropping is a matter of personal preference. I don't show my dogs so...

At this point in time, I prefer to have my dogs fixed. I don't feel like dealing with messy heat cycles, and I can honestly say having an unaltered male is a pain in the ass. But he'll be neutered in the next few months (I'm waiting to neuter my Rottie, as Rotts are prone to bone cancer, and the theory is that waiting to neuter will make it somewhat less likely that he'll get it (who knows, he's still a pup). I can tell you that the day he's neutered, I'll be doing a happy dance.

Plus the sound of a male dog slurping on his junk echoes throughout the house, and drives me crazy since that's all he wants to do 24/7, especially if I let him on my bed (damn adolescents!). And I feel bad when he sits down and crushes his balls (he gets such a sad look in his eyes then jumps up to sit down more carefully).

They are both good foods. However, TOTW is grain-free where as Blue Buffalo is not unless you buy Blue Buffalo Wilderness which is grain free but is more expensive than TOTW.
What are your views on ear cropping?
It's personal preference. I like crops on some dogs and some dogs look silly with a crop. Personally, I like floppy ears.
Do they have to be cropped to show?
No, but some seem to think that a cropped dog does better - depending on the registry of course.
do you think fixing your dog is a must if it doesnt cause any issues?
Again this is a personal preference. I would rather leave a dog intact if it was up to me. I don't really see the need to fix a dog if you are responsible.
if you feed raw, should you do it everyday or do you think twice a week is ok?
If you can afford to feed raw everyday then go for it. But if it is only a couple times a week then that is ok too. If I could afford it right now I would be feeding raw everyday.

No you don't have to crop the dogs ears to show, I see more and more people with their dogs with natural ears.
On Fixing the dog if you are responsible it's not really that bad a thing. My hubby doesn't like the slurpy ball licking but I tell him if you could do it you would.

Of the two I'd say TOTW. However I would more likely feed either Orijen Puppy or Acana ALS grain free personally.

What are your views on ear cropping?
I think a nice crop looks beautiful, however truly nice ones are harder to find than nice natural ears.

Do they have to be cropped to show?
Nope. Its more popular with UKC dogs to be cropped, but most ADBA are not cropped.

do you think fixing your dog is a must if it doesnt cause any issues?
I think most pet owners are better off altering their pets. Six months old if its a female or you aren't comfortable managing your male until its 12-18 months old. I have no problem with people who are responsible enough to manage their unaltered pets with having "accidental" breedings.

if you feed raw, should you do it everyday or do you think twice a week is ok?
Every day @ 2-3% of ideal adult body weight; multiple feedings usually with a puppy until they get a little older and most adults usually just one meal a day. Some do have at least one fast day in the week. Any raw diet should be heavily and properly researched before feeding. Well unless you are feeding a complete dehydrated raw diet like The Honest Kitchen or Stella and Chewey's. Most prepackaged frozen raw are ground and therefore do no provide the best benefit of raw which is clean teeth... so supplementing with raw meaty bones is a must (same with dehydrated raw or kibble IMO). I don't know who would shell out for those anyway, they tend to be very expensive. The yahoo Raw Feeding group is a great place to start your research and they have many links to other raw food resources.

You can crop you dogs ears at any age, 10 weeks to 12 is the best time as their young. Their only going to look crappy if you go to a shitty doctor, and how you after care for your pups ears!
