Default Rescue Stories
My rescue Pit Bull (they claimed that a blue male bred their red nose female...idk I saw the mother...she was a red nose...malnutritioned but could be real nice looking... Axle could be a mix) pup Axle. He is now approximately 20 weeks old. I rescued him from an abusive home when he was 4 weeks old. My husband, son and myself went to a home looking at a truck that was advertised for sale. The home was disgusting and reeked of feces and urine that you could smell from outside ( guess the inside of their house was an unmaintained home zoo). The yard wasn't in any better shape than the house. While my husband looked at the truck for sale I found Axle, a tiny brindle Pit Bull pup. He seemed very timid and showed signs of abuse. After talking to the owners I found that Axle's mother had been ignorantly impregnated on her first cycle; therefore; she abandoned the pups. They said that Axle was the last pup left. The owners of Axle’s mother did not seem to know nor care about the proper care that the abandon litter needed. Axle at 4 weeks old was occasionally receiving table scraps as meals. Axle was so malnutritioned and abused that he had no extra puppy wrinkles/skin, his coat was thin, he was skinny, had scars, etc. I felt so bad for the poor pup that I told the owners “We don’t want to buy your truck…but I will take the puppy”. They agreed as long as I paid them $40. Amazingly I believe that Axle knew that he had been saved from a life of misery...if he survived. From day one he has been very cooperative, willing to please, loving, etc. Axle’s intelligence level; especially for his age; he continues to astonishes every person he becomes acquainted with. He was fully house/kennel trained in approximately 1 week, does not chew anything other than his belongings, no annoying whining or barking (only when in need of love, food and potty breaks and even then it is not obnoxious). I am constantly complimented on his behavior skills and loving nature. We are all very happy to have Axle in our family.
