I don't think we have had a blue 'pit bull' where I work but I have seen them at spay and neuter clinics. So they aren't that popular in this town in other towns I am sure they are.

I agree that is a horrible fad for sure. I actually got word of someone trying to make more inbreds today actually. (Long story short..) Apparently the people who bought Brutis in the first place, want him back to breed him with his sister from the same litter. Wanted to come down from Philly with her to do it too. Good thing he got snipped the first day we brought him home. I hate those people with a passion. Those specific people and BYB's in general. Never met them either.

I live in California. And EVERYONE in my town has either a pit or a chihuahua (sometimes both), or some type of mix breed w/ pit or chihuahua. And it seems that everywhere i have traveled to in CA since ive lived here, its the same thing...

Pretty much anything that is bred for looks is worthless to me. Other people spends their money and chooses their dog though, what they want dosnt really affect me. They are not any different than the 9000 other dogs bred for show.

Hey I have both lol. And a friend of mine just drove to Ok to get a blue pittie. He's very cute but he's a 2nd gen. Gotti. Idk how popular those are but her pup is the first blue I have seen in Wyoming.

not seen many out here in hickville, most all bully breeds out here are solid colors, like Goren, or white, and brindle is pretty popular but that is all in the pound, I know for a fact there are very very FEW bully breeds period in my town...well legal ones anyhow, people doing illegal things with them who knows but the ones you see..I have lived here for 3 years now, and seen a grand total of 1 pit bull other than mine out on a walk, 3 boxers total...mostly we have hound breeds out here hehe, and hunting dogs

We've gotten alot more APBT of every color, size, and shape here but a big part of it comes from Gang members in the Military (there is a base here, sucks) and the illegals coming up from Az, Co, and Tx. Cant open the door without seeing a few. It's gotten bad.

There's not a lot of them around here, a lot of people want them but about the only ones you see are in the wrong part of town, and I've only seen about 3, which for a town like that one is a small number.

Blue dogs have been around as long as the "pit bull". The problem is that when people now try and bred the hell out of them. And sell the "rare" blue puppies.

Now then the American Bully came along and blue is a popular color along with Reds and now th Blue/Tan. Which is the new "rare" color. It is just a dilution.

My boyfriends ex had a litter of Norrod/Sorrells/Rozmus dogs and 1 pup out the litter was blue.

CA is a HUGE spot for American Bullies. And while American Bullie are not my cup of tea however they are here. And as long as they call them what they are I have no issue with them.

Sliptone inbreeding and linebreeding are not a bad thing if done properly and cull the defects.

And FYI not all blue dogs are conformationally incorrect

We have no blue lines here, but don't worry, someone has crossed blue amstaffs to get the blue gene in the pool.

I dont care what color a dog is as long as it is/can be physically fit and with a good temperment. My next dog will be whatever color he happens to be. He will come from the pound and hopefully be very active to fit with my lifestyle.

My current dog is blue brindle.

Not true.

All blue is, is a dilute black. And I know of some Eli dogs that have thrown blue dogs.

Texas is blue dog and Bully style INSANE i hate what they (breeders) represent.Small um parts these breeders have breeding these dogs with potential health problems.I hate the whole movement.I've been there through it all.First the reds, then whites now blues..I'm waiting for it to be over

---------- Post added at 05:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:13 PM ----------

and not blue amstaffs..Mastiffs and blue lacyy.West coast mixed with mastiff a long time ago to TRY and keep up with the south as far as fighting goes back in the day.HOWEVER the 100lb mutants they produced were nothing but show dogs with new colors.Same thing with merles and hunting dogs

I don't know that it will fade.
The interest MAY wane, BUT -- dilution being a recessive gene, once you have this many blue dogs (there are a LOT in UKC), you don't get the other colors back....every pup a blue dog produces at least carries the dilution gene and so there are too many opportunities for more blues to be produced, pushing out the other colors. You won't get them back. We may be "stuck" with a lot of blues, because even if we don't breed FOR them, we are going to get them. After all these years of breeding so many blues, the recessive gene is spread out so much through the population, you can't get rid of it.

Carla
I understand. I see way more blue "pit bulls" than any other color.

I was speaking more in terms that interest in that "rare" color will wane when people realize they can pick one up off the side of the road as a stray due to how overpopulated the "pit bull" world is with them.

More about the blue dogs.......I'm the only one that has one in my area that I've seen. 90,000 people, but haven't seen another blue dog in about 10 years. Here is Samson (Sammy) and please view his latest pic here:

Here is what should be discussed instead:

Protect Home and your Family - $200

Times are hard an crime is on the rise. Protect your Home an Family with the best money an can buy. That's right up for sale are some Pitbull puppies. WatchDog Bloodline. They are very good family dogs they play with my niece and nephew all time. they are good swimmers and great house dogs not big like a other dogs . I own the mother and father these dog have papers. There Not Mutt!! The Price is $200 each there are 4 puppies and colors very. This a small price to pay for this kind piece of mind. When you are way at work they are working hard to watch over your Family and Home. An when you get home they will be wait for you ready to listen about your day or go and play. All they need is a home an it could be yours. Why I put them under sporting is cause they can do what you are into. Heading out for a running or going biking no problem. Going to hit the tail for a hike, put a pack on them they will carry there own gear. Going hunting, if you shoot a bird they will get it. Cameras good, alarms are loud. But a dog will hear them before the camera can see them and this alarm will bit there a$$ as its going off. (THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A BAD BREED, JUST BAD OWNERS) PLEASE DON'T FLAG.
