Default So Confused
I wasn't sure where to put this, but i want to know yall's opinions! On another thread i was replying to someone's question and i told them that Cleo's lines where Razor's Edge, Gaff, and Cowboy. Somebody else that was replying said that it was a very strange cross, and i'd like to know why? Also, i think her daddy is not and APBT, he's kind of on the short side. So what could he possibly be? Her mom, on the other hand does look like an APBT, but i dont really even know anymore, im getting so confused about all of this. Will all of yall please tell me what you think? It would help a lot! Thanks

Her mom's the taller one, her daddy's the short one!

Her Sire looks like an Ambully, and her Mom looks like a possible Amstaff.

Might be the picture, but does the Dam look down in the pastures to others? Or is it just me?

Ya... that'd be my guess as well. American Bully for the dad, and Am Staff for the mum, maybe boardering on American Bully depending on the lines. lol Do you have a ped? I wonder what they mean by ''Cowboy''.

I sent her paper in but they havent sent her ped back to me yet. And honestly i dont really even know what the crap the Cowboy line is! lol. Shes PR if that has anything to do with any of it. Im just so confused about all of it. All i know is the breeders are older and pretty experienced with breeding APBT's, ive known of them for a while, and they told me that's what she was. Whatever she is though, she's still beautiful. $800 and she should be beautiful lol

The dad is what one would call extreme Ambully. The mom looks good, but her legs look huge to me, does it look this way to anyone else? Like they are too thick and don't fit her body or something?

PR doesn't mean much. Just means they have been registered with the UKC for a certain amount of generations. Can't wait to see the ped to figure out what they meant by Cowboy. Have you thought of asking the breeder? lol The reason I guess it's odd, is there are some dogs refered to as Cowboy from game lines so it would be odd they would mix that in with American Bully's and Am. Staff blood, if that is what they are refering to by ''Cowboy''. My girl Scarling is down from B-Lines Cowboy...

http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com...ee&dog_id=3877

Or there is Midnight Cowboy...

http://apbt.online-pedigrees.com/mod...ree&dog_id=146

but these are performance bred dogs, not ''show'' bred dogs like Gaff and Razor's Edge, if you can even call some of them that. Many are so out of standard, they've had to create a new registry for them.... hence the American Bully's arrival.

I thought it looked like a pic of a young bully who hasn't finished growing yet.
It's strange because if it's a Midnight Cowboy dog, most people would never breed it into bullies. But there are probably hundreds of dogs with the name cowboy, and if your breeder is calling your pup's dam and sire APBT's...sorry, but they aren't all that knowledgeable.

At the end of the day, as long as you're getting her fixed and not breeding her, doesn't really matter. Love her, take care of her, make her a good bully ambassador, and call her what she is...an American Bully.
How long ago did you send off for her ped? You might want to follow up if it's been more than 6 weeks.

From the pics and info you gave...I would have to say that the "older breeders" are not experienced with breeding APBTs. Without other information, I would not venture a guess on how or why they breed. The reason I say this is based on the choice to breed that dam with that sire. What kind of standard are they following? What build of dog are they wanting to get out of that breeding? It just doesn't make much sense.

All that being said, the dam looks very nice and so does your pup!

Thanks DieselDawg! I know where you're coming from. They own the dam and bred her to the short dog Blue Ice. Both kennels have a website, i might better go look over it again and see if they have ped's for the dogs!

Cute little pup.. I'm going with AmBully.... the cowboy thing may just be a selling tatic to sell pups... I think the people that my daughters b/f got Mollie from referred to her as Gator, Colby, and who knows what else. Basically, Mollie is just a mutt.

call her what she is...an American Bully What makes her an American Bully? Just because the sire is one? Is this a catch all term people use for anything crossbred? I would lean on the pitbull term in its encompassing sense rather than make out the dog is something that its not.

Only if the dam is also shown to be ambully would I claim the dog to be so.

Well she can only know for sure when she gets paperwork back what the mother is, but there is probably a .01% chance she is APBT judging by looks and color. Only time will tell. But it takes 2 purebred APBT parents to make a purebred APBT pup so the pup would in fact be Ambully going by bloodlines.
