Default another moving question
ok, so i already posted before that we are going to be moving with the dogs. we are going to be renting a home and i have made a little write-up about ourselves and our dogs. kind of a like a renter's resume. it can be trying to find a place with any dog, let alone a bully breed. so here is my question....

both of our dogs are pit bull type mixes. Porter obviously does not look like much of a pit bull unless you met his mom. Pilot can go either way and there are times when people right off the bat ask if she is a pit bull and then others think she is just a lab. And since Pilot was a rescue off the streets there is no way of knowing what she actually is. On our write-up and when we meet the landlord in person should we tell them they are both pit bull mixes, or go with another mix of breeds?

Currently on the resume thing we have Porter listed as a lab/corgi mix and Pilot as a lab/pointer mix. Below are the photos I used in the write-up.

What do you all think? Be honest or bend the truth a little?

What are they registered at the vets office as? What about for their county license?

If they are listed as lab mixes, I would continue with that. However, if they are registered as pit bull mixes, you should probably continue with that. Offer to buy renters insurance. State Farm doesn't have breed restrictions.

Do you know for a fact that either have pit bull in them? I feel like people too often assume that a dog contains some form of pitbull based on looks. There are a lot of mixes out there that can be mistaken for a pitbull type dog.

To answer your question, if you don't know for sure that you dogs contains pitbull, then you are not bending any truth.

They both look predominantly lab, so calling them lab mixes isn't a misrepresentation at all. The biggest hurdle you'll face with renting is going to be weight limits.

yes we know for sure that porter (the little white dog) is half pit bull because we met his mom. though she was non papered she was clearly a pit bull of some type. Pilot is a mystery but certainly fits the pit bull general description as she has a short coat and has a very muscular build.

luckily they are both under 50 pounds, so i am hoping the size wont be too big of an issue. thanks for the help everyone! moving date is coming up real fast now.

im gonna go with the lab mix descriptions and tried to pick photos of them when they were looking the most like labs. haha. thanks again.

Neither of them look predominately pit bull, so I wouldn't be bothered with calling them both lab mixes.

What bugs me, is people who obviously have some sort of pit bull type dog... and call it a "staffordshire" or a "boxer mix" etc.

Maybe it's just me and my incessant urge to not lie about good things... but I've had people tell me I should lie about Ruger's breed, and it's insulting! My dog is a service and therapy dog, and a GREAT representation of his breed.. I am not going to lie about what he is! Giving credit where credit is due

And trust me, I know what you are going through... I am currently looking for somewhere to live too, and it IS hard finding some place that will allow bulldogs.. but it IS possible. VERY possible.

oh yeah when pilot was growing up everyone told us she looked just like a great dane! it was the way that she held her ears. we were worried for a minute that we were going to have a 100+ pound pony/dog. haha.
