Default Obama is an Embarassment to America
A not so hidden agenda aimed at throwing Israel under the bus. The one speck of sanity in the entire Middle East; and America's only source of accurate information for our intelligence community; and Obama is working 24/7 at alienating Israel. Looks like a two fold agenda: 1. Throw Israel to the wolves thereby destroying Israel's trust in the USA; which will in turn cause Israel to think twice before providing the USA with critical information that may save the lives of American troops in the Middle East. Why should Israel trust this phony administration? We ( America ) have had our share of fools in our political arena; but this is the first time in American history that we actually have an evil presence in our government.

Is that why the US is fighting the Palestinian bid for an independent state at the UN?

Obama's problem is not that he is evil, but that he is incompetent. When he demanded that Israel freeze settlement activity, the Palestinians couldn't accept anything less. That killed off the negotiations.

As many of you know, I'm no fan of the Obama regime, since he is the worst president in the history of the United States. Mainly, he's a disaster for America and his foreign policy is a complete failure.

However... I will give credit where credit is due. In the past two weeks, Obama fought against the creation of a Palestinian/Iranian terror state. He made a very good speech at the UN and he is firm in stating that the US will veto any security council resolution authorizing the Palestinian state.

So it turns out that Obama is a RELUCTANT friend of Israel. If we disregard his appalling behavior towards PM Netanyahu and his '67 border speech, it turns out that the actions of the Obama regime have actually been very positive toward Israel. Apparently, Obama's advisors have had some words with him, and he's very much changed his tune since bringing his personal relationship with Israel to a crisis. In practice, I can't say that the Obama administration has been any worse toward Israel than previous administrations. And this administration -- so far -- has been as good a friend or even better in some cases than previous Republican administrations, DESPITE Obama himself.

Maybe it's the Jewish lobby. Maybe it's a lesson from Democrats losing in NY's District 9, maybe it's the drop in Jewish donations to the Obama campaign, or maybe it's just getting very close to the next presidential elections and Obama's on the ropes. Either way, I will give Obama credit where credit's due for his stance on the Palestinian state.

Of course, it remains to be seen which concessions Obama has wrangled out of Netanyahu in exchange. That may be the next huge problem Israel will face.

Obama’s campaign was about more than particular policies. He ran on a platform that famously promised change and hope. His tremendous political achievement was in framing those concepts in such a way that they were interpreted by voters to mean precisely what they wanted them to mean without committing Obama to specific policies. To the anti-war faction it meant that the wars would end. To those concerned about unilateralism it meant that unilateralism would be replaced by multilateralism. To those worried about growing inequality it meant that he would end inequality. To those concerned about industrial jobs going overseas it meant that those jobs would stay in the United States. To those who hated Guantanamo it meant that Guantanamo would be closed.

Obama created a coalition whose expectations of what Obama would do were shaped by them and projected on Obama. In fact, Obama never quite said what his supporters thought he said. His supporters thought they heard that he was anti-war. He never said that. He simply said that he opposed Iraq and thought Afghanistan should be waged. His strategy was to allow his followers to believe what they wanted so long as they voted for him, and they obliged. Now, this is not unique to Obama. It is how presidents get elected. What was unique was how well he did it and the problems it caused once he became president. The rest of the article is very interesting too.

Another time Obama had our back was when they tried to get the Security Council to condemn settlement activity:

While Obama spoke out against settlement construction, when the issue was brought up for a vote at the Security Council in February he ordered US envoy Susan Rice to veto a condemnation of Israel over the issue. That happened when his status in the polls was less desperate. source: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7...126147,00.html

Obama sold us bunker busters that Bush had blocked.

The upcoming issue of Newsweek, which is set to hit newsstands on Monday, claims that two years ago US President Barack Obama secretly approved the transfer of 55 "bunker-busters", a form of deep-penetrating bombs, to Israel. The country had been requesting the bombs since the time of the Bush administration, the Daily Beast website reported on Friday.

According to the report, US and Israeli officials told Newsweek that the GBU-28 type bombs, which could be potentially be used in an attack on Iran's nuclear sites, were transferred to Israel in 2009, just several months after Obama came into office. source: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7...126503,00.html

Obama is not my favorite president either (w/o any connection to Israel), but we can't expect ANY American president to be more Zionist than our leaders. If Bibi and our "hawkish" leaders are talking about a "Palestinian" state can we blame Obama?

While that might be true, Israel is much better served relying on herself.
Leaders, the world over, keep changing, so do rules and sentiments.
If help/assistance comes, good. If not, the awakening isn't quite as rude.
In this despicable political game, this downright conniving and backstabbing that is going on t/o the world, trusting anyone can be detrimental.
Dare I say that those politicians, i.e. Ron Paul here in the U.S., who suggest self reliance and withholding aid, are more pro Israel than the ones who make promises, just to break them as soon as an opportunity arises?
